There are times in my life I realize being a mom should be listed in Disovery’s Dirty Jobs tv show.
Last night, at approximately 2 am while my husband is sound asleep, little Emma wakes up. She’s crying, no bawling. Within seconds of holding her I realize her fever is back (cutting teeth numbers 6 and 7) and she’s absolutely miserable. Just seconds after giving her a dose of Infant Tylenol it happens…the eruption…hours old milk has curdled in her stomach and oozes out like hot oatmeal all over herself, my comforter, my sheets, even a little bit up her nose.
It’s now 2:30am and I’m stuffing our bedding into the washing machine. All of it. Even the down comforter that is Dry Clean only. As the water pours onto our bed sheets it dawns on me how lazy of a housewife I’ve become because our backup bedding is sitting in the dirty pile of clothes 2 feet away. Crap!
Normally, I wouldn’t care and just wait for everything to wash and dry, I wasn’t going to bed anytime soon anyways. But, and it’s a big but…I had just awoken the grouchiest of sleep deprived men because of all that went on and had to tell him we had no sheets or blankets available. It wasn’t pretty.
On a positive note, I did get a photo op worth a few smiles and giggles.
Real men really do wear pink!

Yeah, welcome to my world! LOL! IT really sounds like you were peeking into our house and trying to pawn it off as your own stuff! “Dirty Jobs” indeed!
haha! Too funny! OH and you just got your bed all comfy with your new sheets! UGHHH!!
lol….love the picture. I hope Emma is feeling better today! Those type of nights are never fun. How did the comforter do in the washer? We have a down comforter and I hate having to get it dry cleaned anytime a kid gets sick on it.
oh mamma been there too hahahaha
That is just too funny. I know, not a 2:30 in the morning. I think we have probably all been there done that. lol
LMAO That’s hilarious!!!
But my question is not ‘how did you get Jon to sleep with a Dora or Princess blankie’ (although that did pop into my mind) but how did you get ALL of that into your washer? I almost burned my house down putting in our King sized comforter about 4 years ago!
Hehe-That picture is definitely worth more then a few giggles! Lol
Love it!
i feel like we share the same dealing with the teething..
i feel your pain, minus the grouchy hubby…
I hope your little princess feels better soon, darn those molars!
I have been there with the bedsheets. They take up so much room in the wash that they just don’t take priority!
Loved this post!
IF it weren’t official before, it’s CERTAINLY official now – YOU are a true blogger LMBO!!!
This is hilarious LOL
Sorry the little one wasn’t feeling well though
That sucks… I hate when one of my kids are sick. The good thing is, kids are SUPER resilient (way moreso than WE are) so they usually kick it pretty fast. How is she now? I’ve never had any teething horror stories with mine, thankfully. But Zoe has been snotting all over me for days
Those teeth can be a real problem I have been there a few times myself
LOL My 4 year old has that same princess blankie!!!
Hahaha! NO DOUBT! I must say, there are things I miss about mine being little, but this is DEFINITELY not one of them!
