Wordless Wednesday – Not without Brother

brothersister

We've taken on the task of trying to switch our toddler to her big girl bed from the crib. Night one did not go so well. I sat with her, I read her book, I even squeezed my toosh into the toddler bed with her. Then my husband took a crack at it. Nope...nothing would do the trick so we brought in the big guns....her brother. With her big brother in bed, she managed to stay and be happy. … [Read more...]

The Little Things are Love

bedofroses

Sometimes I've dreamed of having the "perfect" husband...you know the tv drama kind that sweeps you off your feet at every turn, feeds you breakfast in a bed of roses, stops for spontaneous passionate kisses in the rain. Hey, a girl can dream can't she? But then reality smacks you in the face with the stench of a soiled diaper, a boiling pot of potatoes rolling over and your husband shouting, "I'm out of underwear, … [Read more...]

Mama needs a Hair Cut

mommycut2

It's been...sheesh...almost 3 years now since I've had more than a trim done to my hair...probably closer to 7 years since I've actually had something done that entailed more than  just a straight cut. It's time. Mama needs a new hair do. I have a gift card here to visit a salon and now all I need is a style and a little bit of push to get my rear in there and have it done. I've spent the last two hours virtually … [Read more...]

No Fence + No Pool = Bruised Ribs

ouchribs

What an odd equation that is right? Let me explain. In our quaint little "Pleasantville" town of 8,500 people there's a nifty little ordinance that says you cannot have a pool of any size, including the super cool Sofpool's in your yard unless it is enclosed by a gated fence. You know, I really do understand the reasoning behind it, it's for the safety of other children. (note: if parents would keep an eye out for … [Read more...]

Liquid Addiction

addiction

Hi, my name is Cat and I'm addicted to Mountain Dew. Yesterday I was stopped dead in my tracks when I opened the fridge to grab a drink and thought, "Good Grief! Do I really drink that much Mt. Dew?" Evidently so because when I woke up this morning the first thing I did was grab one and the bottom shelf was already empty. I walked back to my desk to find 7 empty Mountain Dew cans...all from last night. I … [Read more...]

fdgift6

Father's Day is right around the corner and if you're anything like me, finding the perfect gift for dad isn't the easiest task. Things Remembered offers a customizable gift for every type of father in your life from the … [Read more...]

Random Honesty

oscargrouch

One of the biggest compliments I've ever gotten on my blog is that they love my honesty. And that's what I'm all about, being honest about life as a woman, a wife, a mother, a friend, and even sometimes a doormat. So HONESTLY....I feel like crap today and I'm just going to spat out some random thoughts. I know your husband is suppose to not only be your partner in life, but your best friend to confide in. But I … [Read more...]
