About Baby Signs by Author Kyle Olmon
BABY SIGNS is based on American Sign Language and will help encourage the use of non-verbal gestures to communicate. Research has proven that babies who are taught to use signs to express their basic ideas before they can say words are happier because they can communicate with others.
From early morning wake-up to eating, playtime to bedtime, BABY SIGNS will teach baby and parent their first seventeen signs to communicate with each other. Features beautiful pop-ups, pull-tabs and a mini-poster!
Hands On Experience
My time is often stretched with three kids in the house and one thing we love to do is one on one story time with each of them alone. I also try to maximize our time by including books that offer educational value. The Baby Signs Pop-Up Book did just that. Kaydence, our 2 year old, is fascinated by the pop up children. As we went through each page we were introduced to simple hand signs that are relevant to a young child who can’t quite verbalize their needs.

Kaydee’s favorite part of the book are the tabs included on each page that can be pulled to control the character actions. Right away she understood the hand sign for QUIET. The little girl on the page moves her index finger from her lips and back down to demonstrate the hand sign when you pull the tab. Some of the other signs included are: Eat, Bath, Mommy, I Love You, Help and more.
Mom Approved
Baby Signs gets two big thumbs up from us! Each pop up is detailed and fun, clearly illustrating simple signs that our toddler can imitate. I even had a little fun learning new signs as I practiced them with my toddler.
Mom Improvements
As much as we love the book, the pages can be easily torn by busy little fingers. You have to be very careful when closing the pop-up pages as they are intricate and detailed.

Baby won’t be here until September but I know others that have used sign to communicate with their babies and it works. The most popular sign seemed to be “more”
