I was certainly not prepared to write about this at this point in time but it seems my two year old daughter has her first crush – her brother’s best friend. Yes, you read that correctly, my TWO year old daughter has a crush!
This past weekend my son’s friend came over to play, not unusual. After a knock at the door, “can Mattison and Kaydee play?”, again not unusual. Fifteen minutes later I walk on the front porch to get Kaydee and see a drawing on the concrete, very unusual.
Lucky for me, there’s a 7 year age difference so I won’t have to worry about this years down the road. For now it’s more of a “little sister I never had” type of crush and I think it’s ADORABLE.
Kaydee is completely infatuated with this little boy, refuses to even call him by name. In her words, “he’s my baby”.
The only part of all of that makes me worry a tad bit is the fact that often times, he spends more time playing with Kaydee than he does Mattison.

That’s cute. My daughter kind of has a crush on our neighbor too. He is so sweet with her though. He is almost 3 years older, but he will play with her, and whenever she sees him she gets so excited, and he doesn’t mind at all.

That is adorable! I think some kids are just a natural when it comes to playing with younger kids. I know my nephew always was.

Awww, that is too cute! I think it will be a while before we get our first crush in this house, my son (5) thinks girls have cooties, but that’s sweet that our sons friend does play with her
I’m feeling ya. My 2 year old has a crush on a 3 year old. BIG TIME. She tells me she loves him. She won’t go to sleep at night unless we tell her a story about the two of them playing and having adventures. She asks for him all the time. Jeepers. What are we in for?
Too sweet… I was thinking the same thing as Stefanie – Matt is going to have to get used to his friends paying attention to his little sisters. In about 12 years, I see it becoming a REAL problem for him and for YOU!! Uh Oh!!
