Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller Review – Neighborhood Walks

I’m back with another edition of our experiences withe the Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller. It’s my personal mission to spend the entire summer learning the ins and outs, benefits, and areas for improvement. This week, our “3 Kids and Us Testing” took us to the streets of our neighborhood.

Kid Tested

We’ve had a run in on bad luck with spring weather so far this year with a lot of rain, a lot of wind, and even a little bit of snow. But all of that couldn’t stop us from getting outside the one day last week we saw some sunshine and temperatures warm enough to bring our infant outside. We bundled up our 5 week old and 22 month old while our oldest took off on his bike for a bit.

After pulling the stroller out of the van we got each child snuggled into their individual seat and buckled. One of the things we enjoy with this stroller is the ability to adjust the individual seats. Emma was able to lay down comfortably and snooze the ride away, while our older girl, Kaydence, sat up and took in the scenery.

bumbleridedadWe spent a good 30 minutes cruising the flat the pavement of our neighborhood taking turns with the pushing, and even walking side by side to push together. Who would have thought a stroller could add a little snuggle time for mom and dad too. Twenty minutes into the cruise, Kaydence decided it was her turn to push the stroller and thanks to the adjustable handle bar, we could lower it enough for her to reach and have a little walk time as well. With the stroller weighing in at 34lbs plus the 9lbs of our infant, I was impressed with how easily our 32lb toddler could casually push the stroller with guidance from my husband and I.

Mom and Dad Approved

We spent the entire walk with the front wheels in the 360 degree swivel position to easily navigate the twists and turns of our neighborhood streets. Even though my husband won’t admit it, he got a kick out testing this feature by doing some donuts in our cul-de-sac.

You may have also noticed our little Emmaleigh was not in a car seat. For those of you that live in a high traffic area and want the safety of using your carseat or prefer to have your infant facing you for the ride, you can purchase an optional adapter bar that is compatible with the following popular infant seats:

  • Graco Snugride
  • Graco Snugride 32
  • Graco Safeseat
  • Chicco Keyfit
  • Chicco Keyfit 30
  • Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP
  • Maxi Cosi Mico

Dad Improvements

When it comes to navigating the streets of our neighborhood, I have no complaints, but my husband on the other hand had one small issue. We often like to go on walks as a family and as mentioned in the review of the Bumbleride Indie Twin features and accessories, there’s a handy cup holder perfect for sliding in a bottle of water. Unfortunately, my husband and I do not drink after each other so that left us one cup holder short. We’d love to see an additional spot added to the left side of the stroller so it will accommodate drinks for mom and dad.

loving the reviews. I think that is amazing that you can attach a carseat to it. Yet another reason to love this stroller. I think I would be writing amazing reviews and telling everyone LOL. Oh, and love the pink. I have a boy and a girl now ride in strollers, but I still LOVE the pink.

  2. [...] September 27, 2009 by Judy We have been looking for a double stroller few several weeks now. Being diehard babywearers, we never really used a stroller or really wanted one. A confluence of factors changed our minds (two herniated discs in my lower back, it’s REALLY hot to be babywearing DD in the summer, it’s super tricky to go on long outings with the two bambini without DH), so my search for the perfect double stroller began. I learned many things about shopping for strollers in the process and in the end, decided on the Bumbleride Indie Twin. Is it the perfect stroller? No, but it’s really very close. As far as I can tell, this is only the second year that Bumbleride has made the Twin version. This means that it’s tricky to find reviews of the stroller. The review done by babygizmo.com was the most comprehensive and helpful to me. I found a few other tidbits of info here and here, and several other useful vids here. [...]
