Among many things, nothing says fall better that caramel apples. As much funny as biting into one on a stick is, I also love pairing them up with other flavors. In this case, fried caramel apple chunks layered over pound cake with extra caramel sauce and a dollop of whipped cream.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 3 granny smith apples
- 1 frozen pound cake
- 4 tbs caramel sauce
- 3 tbs butter
Let’s Get Cooking:
- Peel and core your apples. Cube them into about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Melt 3 tbs of butter over a medium heat in a large skillet
- Add apple cubes and fry for about 15 minutes for a soft apple with a slight crunch in the center
- Add 3 tbs of caramel sauce to hot apples and stir for 1 minute
Serve over sliced pound cake and drizzle with 1 tbs of caramel sauce and a large dollop of whipped cream.

this looks so good! imagine if you substituted the whip cream for vanilla ice cream….. very sinful!
I love apples like this. We call them fried apples (without the caramel and pound cake of course) and they are yummy. I will have to do this the next time we go camping, or maybe sooner. It sure does look and sound yummy.
