Mom Tested
To really put the Steamboy Steam Mop to the test, I had to start in my kitchen. It’s the central location for spilled food, foot traffic dirt, and just about every grime you can imagine. It’s also the largest area of flooring in our house that I hate to clean the most because of how long it takes. I have two mops in my arsenal, a Swiffer Wet Jet and a Libman Wonder Mop…and if you ask me, there’s nothing wonderful about either one of them. Between the two of them, I’m forced to use chemical cleaners, scalding hot water and in the end I always have to get down on the floor with a scrub sponge and a towel to clean up the mess they leave behind.
Out of the box, the Steamboy was very easy to assemble. It required two screws (included) to attach the handle and steam body. I ventured into my kitchen to survey the damage my kids caused the week before and wondered if this was REALLY going to make my life easier. I only mop the kitchen once a week for the sheer fact that I hate doing it in the first place. I filled the water tank, plugged the mop into an outlet and I was ready to go. The Steamboy only requires seconds to be ready for use. After holding down the trigger, I flipped the mop over just to see how much steam was being produced.
Twenty minutes later I was done! Done! Yes, I said done…my floors were clean, I didn’t scrub, I didn’t have to rinse and twist anything, or clean out a bucket of chemicals. I just removed the microfiber cloth and dropped it into my laundry basket for the day to be washed. A word of caution, keep the mop out of reach of children while in use. The cloth becomes quite hot during and immediately after you’ve finished. And always remember to unplug the mop.
Mom Approved
Have you ever wondered how many chemicals your crawling baby or crumb snatching toddler is putting into their body every time they touch your floors? I sure have. My kitchen cabinet is full of just about every cleaning product you can imagine, even some that are considered “green”. While “green” may mean that it’s good for the environment, it’s not always good for you or your kids. Earth Day inspired me to take a closer look at my current cleaning methods, and that’s when it clicked – water. What’s more natural than that? And add the fact that steam kills common germs, viruses and even dust mites.
By the time I finished my kitchen I ready to do a happy dance. My flooring looked fabulous, it didn’t smell like a chemical factory, and I didn’t have to get on my hands and knees to scrub once. That is until I looked at the cloth. Uhh…yep, that’s how dirty our floors were and I couldn’t even see the dirt to begin with.
Mom Improvements
The SteamBoy was fantastic on small areas but in the interest of saving even more time, I’d like to see a more “wide path” cleaning head. And to take the steam cleaning one step further, a small hand held version for counter tops and shower/bath areas would make an excellent addition to the product line.
I would also like to see the overall weight cut down if possible. At 8lbs plus water I found the mop to be tiresome on my arms until the microfiber cloth was wet enough to glide more easily.

I could use the G4 Fabric Steamers.
As a cleaning service provider, we are all too aware of
the dangers involved with using chemicals. We always err
on the side of safety to protect our clients, their pets,
their plants, and our environment. We always go with the
safest, most effective cleaning substances available.
Other industries should do the same. this sounds like it might make clenaing a LOT easier!

I would love the DIGITAL VELOCITY™ V95 iron.
The Digital Velocity seems pretty cool — to iron with lots of steam at a low temperature, and it has an LCD? Neato.
Between ironing my husbands shirts, my clothes, and my children’s dress outfits (forget about weekday), a high quality iron is essential!
I need a new iron and the IRONMAVEN™ J420 looks great!

I think the MSK-8900M sweing machine (single needle) would be awesome. As of now I take my projects to my Mother in Law and make her do them.
