Cuisinart CleanWater Review

Cuisinart has introduced the latest in innovative, convenient and affordable ways to providing healthier and cleaner filtered water for families. The CleanWater® Countertop Filtration System is ideal for large families thanks to the 2 gallon water tank system or for the smaller household that doesn’t want to refill the tank frequently. The unit’s GF-80 filter ensures the safety of your family by significantly reducing contaminants such as lead, mercury and copper.

Key Features

  • 2 gallon tank capacity
  • dispenses hot, cold and room temperature filtered water
  • energy saver reduces energy usage by 50%
  • child safety lock
  • test and certified for the removal of water contaminants – complete report

Our CleanWater Experience

The initial set up process involved soaking the filter, filling the tanks and waiting for the water to filter through and took about an hour and a half. Once that was done, it took another thirty minutes or so for the hot water and cold water tanks to reach the optimal temperatures. During this time my husband and I both noticed a slight buzzing sound but really it likely wouldn’t be noticed unless your kitchen was quiet like ours was at the time. Once the red and blue indicator lights turned on letting us know the hot and cold water tanks were ready for use the buzzing sound faded to complete quiet.

Overall, we are very impressed with the Clean Water System and everyone in the family has their own reasons for loving it.

My husband enjoys just having a glass of cold water with a lemon slice. There’s no need to add ice because there’s a convenient cold water button that dispenses water at 44 degree F. Personally, I love the hot water dispensing because I don’t have to wait for the tap to heat up and microwave it. Instead I can enjoy a hot cup of tea in as little time as it takes the water to fill up the cup.

What We Like

Of all the features as parents our favorite is the hot water safety lock. While our 8 year old son can easily maneuver the button to release hot water, our 2 year cannot. Instead of simply pressing the button like on the room temperature and cold areas you have to life and push to get the hot water.

What We Don’t Like

Filling the upper water tank isn’t as easy as taking the tank to your sink to fill up. You actually have to fill a water pitcher and transfer that water to the tank. If you happen to have low cabinets like we do, the height of the tank makes it difficult to fill with the pitcher.

  32. A first my thought was this would be prefect for my family. I drink a ton of tea my husband LOVES his water cold, and I prefer mine at room temp during the winter. I recently purchased a brita faucet filter, and this seems sooo much more my style. I love that fact that it does hot and cold. My only concern though is since this dispenses hot water, is the plastic BPA free? I would also like to see this hold a little more water being that I have 6 children. While i realize this is not avergae I would like to see it accomidate a little more.

The feature that I like the most is Home Delivery Water Filter Subscription Service. Now THAT’S a great idea!! I know many times I’ve used a filter way past its prime because I kept forgetting to purchase a new one. This would be one less chore and cleaner water in the long run.

Quite simply, I’m a voracious tea drinker, and it takes a while to heat up the water to the proper temperature. Having something like this would be a significant time saver so I can get back to the important business of being pompous and wearing monocles :)

  88. I love the idea of having clean cold water whenever I want. This house doesn’t have a Reverse Osmosis system (our last one did) and the filter in our fridge broke. I can’t believe how much my water consumption decreased without cold water! But hot water for an instant cappuccino also sounds awesome!
