New from Sassy Toys
Sassy, known for its innovative infant products, is again taking a leadership role in the developmental toy category with a redesigned line that reflects the latest findings in infant development and play. The toys were created to enhance the development of the senses, which is critical to learning as we grow. The more developed the senses become during infancy, the richer and better the information is received as one grows and learns. The entire toy line begins with the belief: “Developing the senses provides a pathway for learning.”
Buying toys for our 9 month old daughter, Emma, is not something we often do. As most parents know, the box is often far more entertaining than the toy itself. However, this is not the case when it comes to Sassy Toys. We’ve been proud purchasers of their product line since our youngest was a baby.
To this day, we still have many, many Sassy toys that have weathered the gnawing teeth of 3 children, the rough and tumble play of our boy and are still as entertaining for our youngest as the day we introduced her to them.
Personally, what I love so much about the updated developmental toys is how much thoughts and innovation went into developing them. Infants are simple, they like bright colors, bold shapes and Sassy provided that! The new line of infant toys cover7 important developmental areas.
- Vision – High contrast, bold geometric patterns encourage Focus.
- Hearing – Music, which is calming to babies
- Touch – Incorporation of many textures
- Communication – Words spoken in English and Spanish encourage baby’s experimentation in language
- Fascination – Moving parts, toys that make sounds and/or light up provide a lesson in cause-and-effect to show baby that she can make a difference in her world
- Imagination – The toys offer interaction opportunities and introduction of new words to baby
- and Exploration – Fill and spill activities encourage motor-cognitive processing skills and is a precursor to shape-sorting
Baby Emma’s Favorite Sassy Toy
If you haven’t noticed from the photos, the Ladybug Teethers have become an extension of her mouth. I’m not sure if it’s the bumpy texture or bright colors, but she sure does love them. With two new teeth coming in this week alone, she’s been chewing on them constantly. A little trick I learned was to pop the teethers in the freezer for 15 minutes and they came out nice and cold which was soothing for those sore gums.
Baby Emma’s Least Favorite Sassy Toy
Our of all 5 toys the one she seemed the least interested in was the Illumination Station. While the lit ball and spinning shapes were entertaining, the suction base didn’t hold up to her play. It seems no matter what surface we suctioned it to, the toy quickly came undone and fell over.

I LOVE Sassy toys. I bought a set when Bryson was just a few months old and we got so much use out of them.
OOh I love the laptop! My son needs one so he’ll get off of mine! LOL
