We’ve been waiting quite some time for a good snowfall this year and it finally happened. Even though I’m much too pregnant to be on a sled, let alone waddling through the snow, I had to take the kids out.
Off we went to a “baby slope” at the park with our sleds in tote and 3 layers of socks on. Hey, it was 10 degrees. I’m really a little sad because this was also my son’s first time sledding and he was a bit of a chicken about it. He’s never been the adventurous type, but come on, who doesn’t love sledding? My son! He made two trips down the hill then refused to go again. Sigh…. So I coached my husband into hopping on a saucer with our toddler.
Yes I can just imagine what some are thinking, “you put a toddler on a sled? are you crazy?” Live a little people. My daughter isn’t going to break her neck or hit a tree, especially since there weren’t any. In fact, she LOVED it! But we did cut our time down to 15 minutes to protect them from the chilly air.
Here’s a short little 30 second video of them sledding for the first time. And yes, the camera is shaking because I’m trying not to laugh my butt off when Jon hit the block of hay.
I’m seriously jealous and can’t wait to go next year!

Super cute cat… what park was this at? Washington?
I want to move north again! We would do that all day and even set up flood lights to do night sledding! I miss it. ;(
How fun!!! Makes me want to go outside right now and sled! Wait…it’s 10 and like 20 degrees outside…I can wait! lol Looks like fun though!
Looks like fun, as much as sledding can be fun, I do not miss everything that goes with living in a snowy climate!
That was funny! I was trying not to laugh too! I can’t wait to move away from snow.
