Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe

I don’t make stuffed cabbage rolls very often for the sheer fact that my husband despises cabbage. Just like the kids, I don’t cater to one person’s preferences. So with my shopping list in hand I picked up all of the ingredients for my favorite cool night meal…

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 large can tomato sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet meatloaf seasoning
  • 2 cups of cooked white rice
  • 2 cups shredded mozzerella cheese

Let’s get cooking!

1. In a large pot, boil individual cabbage leaves for 15 minutes, covered.

2. While cabbage is boiling, brown your ground beef sprinkled with 1/2 packet of meatloaf seasoning and boil white rice until tender.

3. Combine strained, cooked beef with white rice and 1/4 cup of tomato sauce

4. Strain water from cabbage and allow to cool for 5 minutes.

5. Fill center of cabbage leaf with about 1 cup of ground beef and rice mixture

6. Fold each side of cabbage over the center and place the roll loose ends down in a greased baking dish

7. Cover cabbage rolls with remaining tomato sauce and sprinkle with cheese.

8. Bake uncovered at 400 degrees F for 30 minutes, until cheese is melted.

I like to serve these up with a microwaved red potato and cottage cheese!
