Giving Thanks to the Little Things

Earlier this week I found myself a little under the weather thinking about Thanksgiving. This being the first year I haven’t celebrated the holiday with my family, for no reason other than no one was in the mood to get together. Despite their hum-bug mentality, I have so many reasons to be thankful today, so many reason to turn my frown upside down and so many reasons to enjoy the moment.

Today I’m thankful…

my husband brought such an adorable dog into our lives. Without that cuteness I may have given her a boot right out the door when I woke up to find she chewed, dug, scratched a whole in our wall. I’m also thankful I didn’t find a dead mouse on the other side but still curious as to why she did that.

Today I’m thankful…

I have three beautiful children that love each other almost as much as I love them, even if they do express it by pouncing on each other.

Today I’m thankful…

I married the man that was the least likely choice. Even though he drives me completely nutty, it’s a good kind of nutty. And when I wonder if he’s happy with the choices he’s made in life all I have to do is see the way he looks at his children. I’m also thankful that he still rubs my hair at night even though he swore he’d never do it again once I gave birth to our daughter. :-)

Today I’m Thankful…

For the community of women that have been my best friends for the past year and half. They’ve been there to support me through my third pregnancy, the ups and downs of raising a family of five. They were there when I was ready to close my blog and lift me up with their support and kindness with flowers. They have been there to learn from and grow with…I’m thankful for all the women apart of the MomDot community, especially Trisha, who has been there as a voice of reason, a thoughtful friend and a supportive blogger to all those in need.
