A new school year is just around the corner. Along with anxiety many parents face when sending their young children away for the first time, children themselves often have many fears and worries. I’m Your Bus is a wonderful picture book designed for children of all ages and is perfect for the little ones entering pre-k up to 3rd grade. Take a peek inside the book and discover the life of a school bus. Together you and your children can discuss school bus safety and start the new school year off with a smile.

I’m a teacher and I have most recently taught first grade. We review bus safety with discussions, what if’s, and great books … like this one!
I also like her book On the Same Day in March.

This year all 4 of my kids will be in school. It is very difficult for me to part with my youngest, Lukey, who is only 4. I am scared for him to ride the bus. Lukey, 4, will be in UPK .. Andrea, 6, will be in 1st grade .. Jakey, 11, will be in 5th grade .. and Bobby, almost 16!, will be in 10th grade. They are growing up too fast. We are blessed to have seatbelts on our buses here, but getting the kids to use them has been a challenge. I have talks with my children often about the bus and safety. We have had problems with some poor behaved kids bothering my kids on the bus. My daughter keeps standing up on the bus
and she is in trouble when she gets home.

My little ones will be in 2nd and 4th grades, but I don’t need to teach them school bus safety because they are homeschooled. However, on the occasion when they ride in a school-bus-type vehicle, I remind them to not stand up and to not make too much noise so that the driver doesn’t get distracted.
