Yep, it’s a sock, to be more specific it’s my son’s sock…but it’s a clean one. Sometimes I find myself having to improvise with things in the house to get the job done. In this case, I used a sock in place of something made specifically for the job…oh say an OVEN MITT. LOL I really do own oven mitts, where there are, that is yet to be determined.
Back when my husband and I first moved in together we had this old electric stove with coils, it wasn’t like the pretty flat top one we have now. So I go wandering into the kitchen to see what he’s cooking and what do I see? I slice of bread directly on top of the red hot coil, no skillet, no even a pot, bread right on the coil. Of course I had to ask what the heck he was doing. His response, “making toast.”
Yeah, we’re a strange family.

LOL you’re awesome
I know where my oven mitts are…in my daughters room of course LOL but never where I need them! BTW love that recipe
so yummy…I added your new banner to my site!
LMAO That’s one way to make toast I guess.
LOL–you’re very creative and resourceful!
Very cute idea! I always find myself running around the kitchen looking for one of my oven mitts.

I hope that was a very thick sock! You wouldn’t want to get burned! I have improvised an impromptu oven mitt by using a thick kitchen towel folded over many times to make it very, very thick!
My daughter has been known to cook hotdogs over our gas stove. lol
