Every once in awhile I find something interesting going on in my hometown of Springfield, IL – whether it be a local event, local flavor or a local view. Each week I’ll bringing a piece of my life to the online world in a series called Let’s Get Local. I encourage anyone and everyone to join in and share a little bit of their own local flair to introduce us to people and places we may never visit.
There’s something about the snow that just gives me a warm and tingly feeling all over. Something about the purity of the whiteness enveloping my surroundings just makes the harshness of the tempuratures so much more bearable.
Our first significant snow fall of the year came overnight and left us with the most beautiful surroundings that I’d love to share with you. During a drive through Washington Park in Springfield, IL we were greeted by snow covered branches, groups of ducks gathering to feed and lots of little ones enjoying the snowy hillsides.
As much as we wanted to hop out and go sledding ourselves, I just couldn’t bring myself to step into the frigid temperatures.
