Graco Baby Einstein Pack ‘n Play Review (Giveaway Closed)

About Graco and the Baby Einstein Pack ‘n Play

graco4Graco is one of the world’s best known and most trusted juvenile products companies. Graco set the standard: the firm’s Pack N’ Play® Portable Playards, designed by Nate Saint, the son of the Swyngomatic’s inventor, was introduced in 1987, and achieved the same kind of success as Graco’s wind-up swings. The Pack N’ Play is now found in millions of homes across North America. Graco raised the bar further when it introduced the Travel System, the first product that allowed you to quickly click a car seat into and out of a stroller, making life easier for mom and dad by allowing them to move a sleeping infant from house to automobile to stroller without waking the little one up.

What makes the Baby Einstein Pack ‘n Play different?

Grows with your baby. The bassinet feature is perfect for an infant allowing them to be within an arms reach and close enough to the activity gym overhead to see the bright colors and shapes. Then as your baby gets bigger the gym and pad can be placed on the floor for even more entertainment as a Discover and Play Gym. Once your baby gets mobile, you can easily remove the bassinet to use as a full toddler playard filled with toys and the activity panel moves from they gym arms and clips right onto the playard.

Kid Tested

If there’s on thing my kids love, it’s when a new box arrives at our house. A few short weeks ago, Graco sent us the Baby Einstein Discover and Play Pack ‘n Play to see if we could put it to the test of being a sensible product for children and give me the opportunity to lead a more active lifestyle.

Right away our toddler was in love with all of the bright colors. Typically when she’s confined to an area with a baby gate or even her car seat all we here is “out, out, out da da”, but with the Baby Einstein Playard she’s telling anyone that will listen, “in, in!” She’s been having a great time pressing the buttons on the activity panel that play soft music and light up. We also found that the soft catapillar plush toy is removable for her to play with while in the playard.

Mom Approved

I’ve owned a few playards in the past eight years but none have quite compared to the Baby Einstein Pack ‘n Play. I love the versatility of being able to use the bassinet as a quiet place for my infant to look at the bright colors and shapes, then being able to turn around and remove the bassinet so my toddler has a safe place to play with her toys while I get a workout.

While I haven’t gotten in as many workouts as I would have liked, the Pack ‘n Play definitely helped. I’ve been able to spend anywhere from 10 – 20 minutes in my living room exercising with my Wii Fit while the girls are just feet away entertained in the playard.

Mom Improvements

While the playard folds up easily for storage and transport, I noticed it doesn’t slide through standard doorways while fully assembled. I wish it was about 1 inch more compact so that I could easily roll it from my bedroom to the kids room to the living room without having to fold the sides.

I have several Graco items that I love. The travel system was a lifesaver when my oldest was little. I also LOVE my matching pack and play but I could use another one. We forgot our pack n play when we went to the grandparents last weekend and it was a nightmare. I checked out the site and like the Baby Einstein Activity Center.
