This week we had the pleasure of making our first shopping trip to Sam’s Club in quite a few months. As I mentioned before, Sam’s Club is Sharing the Savings with the new eValues initiative designed just for Plus members that want to snatch up extra savings without ever having to clip a coupon. With my gift card in hand (thank you Sam’s Club for providing this) I went online to speed up the process of becoming a member. Purchasing my membership online saved me a ton of time because all I had to do was walk right up to the service desk and have my picture taken, no waiting, no forms to fill out, done in less than 3 minutes.
I’m almost a little afraid to admit it but we spent a total of 2 hours in Sam’s Club. We strolled at least 90% of the extra wide aisles. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before but my biggest pet peeve with shopping is not being able to squeeze a cart and a family of five through tight aisles. This was NOT a problem at Sam’s Club. Making our way through the frozen section we got to enjoy the Saturday samples of hot wings, energy drinks and breakfast sausage.
By the time we left the store my pockets were about $150 emptier, but we had a trunk full of household essentials (in bulk) to show for it.Yes, 12 boxes of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese are an essential part of our diet.
But the crown jewel and purpose of our trip to Sam’s Club was this….the cocktail croissants. They may pack a punch of 100 calories each but they are the best croissants in the city of Springfield and only available in the Sam’s Club bakery. Each container comes with enough to make bite size breakfasts for two weeks. Just a slice of cheese and a fried egg and we have the perfect morning pick me up (or late night put me down).
During my shopping trip I also brought along my printed eValue’s cheat sheet. As an Advantage Plus member you have an assortment of savings available each week that you can check out right from home. Just log in to SamsClub.com and click on My Account. Next you’ll see My eValues on the bottom right, see below.
Clicking on My eValues will take you right to your personal page that shows you important information like the total eValues savings available, the number of eValues offered, how many you’ve redeemed and how many are available. Plus you get an easy to browse and print list of eValues to take with you while you’re shopping. There’s no need to even show the list to your cashier. The savings are preloaded onto your membership card and come off the price right there at the register, which is also shown on your receipt.
