My Tot Clock Review (Giveaway Closed)

totclock3About My Tot Clock

From the website… My name is Pamela Gonzalez, and I am the inventor of My Tot Clock. People often ask me how I came up with the idea for my product. My answer is easy…sleep deprivation was the mother of my invention!

My Tot Clock is a 5 in 1 toddler clock designed to help moms and their children establish good sleep routines, manage time outs, and encourage good behaviors.

Features

  • Bedtime – A blue glow alerts you and your child that it’s time for bed. You can program the built in clock to play a goodnight tune while your child drifts off to sleep followed by white nose or silence.
  • Wake time – A soft yellow glow appears and plays a good morning tune to gently wake up your sleeping toddler.
  • Naps – Program the number of hours your little one should be napping with the press of a button and a soft teal glow.
  • Time Out – Manage your toddler’s not-so-good behaviors with the red glowing time out feature that allows you to set the timer for 1 minute per child’s year of age. When the time is up, the clock face returns to yellow.
  • Encourage Good Behavior – Set the green glowing timer to help your little one manage teeth brushing time, toy clean up, or even potty training.

Kid Tested

A typical day for our family is anything but typical. There’s no schedule. With an infant, a toddler, and preteen in the house we find it hard to keep a consistent routine. Some night we’re in bed by 9pm other nights you’ll find our little Kaydence climbing the walls at 10pm. Thankfully My Tot Clock came knocking with a solution. I’m sure you’re thinking exactly what I was at first, look at all those buttons, how in the world am I going to figure this out? I was a bit intimidated at first as well, but when I sat down to really look at the functions within minutes I had the clock set up. Everything is clearly labeled with adjustable volume for each individual task.

Week 1 – The first few days were rough. We set our 2 year olds bedtime tune to 9:30pm. As I mentioned, we haven’t been very regulated when it comes to bedtimes so Kaydee was all but happy to hit the sack at this time. With perseverance we were able to help her understand that blue light is time to go “night night” and yellow light is “good morning!”.

Week 2 – One thing we’ve learned about parenting is patience is key and this means introducing new things slowly. Week 1 was all about learning bedtime and wake time. This past week we’ve been working on the green, encouragement timer. Some ways we’ve found that this works well is setting the timer to 1 minute for brushing teeth, 5 minutes for picking up toys, and eventually this will be an excellent way to introduce her to potty time.

totclock4After just two weeks our toddler has become so attached to the My Tot Clock we’re ready to purchases some extra Tot Clock Treasures – which are changeable cartridges that allow your kids to experience a whole new set of bedtime stories.

Each Tot Clock Treasure cartridge comes with a popular children’s story, 5 new lullabies, a new wake up song and white noise.

Mom Approved

I have to say, the Tot Clock has surprised me in a number of ways. We’ve never been a hardcore routine kind of family. In fact, with our first child we had no routine at all. For almost two weeks now we’ve been able to keep a decent schedule which is not only allowing me to delegate my own time better but we’ve noticed our toddler has become more consistent in her moods.

Mom Improvements

For busy little hands like the ones on my toddler, I wish the controls on the back of the clock were enclosed in a child-proof case. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for and my toddler was able to take the clock off of her shelf and disrupt the custom settings I had.
