Orange Salad Recipe

This is an awesome “salad” that makes a great addition to holiday meals, we serve it at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas in my family and it goes with supper as a side dish not as a dessert for us.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 9 oz container of cool whip
  • 2 small boxes or 1 large of orange jello
  • 1 container of cottage cheese
  • 1 can crushed pineapple
  • 1 can Mandarin Oranges

Let’s Whip it Up!

  1. Thaw Cool whip and pour into medium sized bowl.
  2. Drain and rinse cottage cheese. I put it in a colander in the sink and run water through it until it is just the curds.
  3. Mix the cottage cheese into the cool whip.
  4. Mix in the dry orange Jello powder.
  5. Drain the crushed pineapple. I put this in the colander in the sink as well and just shake it, mix into the salad.
  6. Drain the Mandarin oranges and cut into pieces 3 or 4 per orange piece. Save about 5 slices to garnish the top of the salad.
  7. Mix the sliced up orange piece into the salad. Garnish with remaining orange slices and refrigerate at least 4 hours but overnight is recommended.

Note: In mixing this salad be careful not to over mix or you will make it runny.
