Our Little Turkey’s First Turkey Day

In my 26 years of celebrating Thanksgiving, this was our first year not having a homemade meal prepared by my mother. Despite the fact we missed celebrating the occasion with our extended families, we had a really nice, quiet and intimate dinner….and realized a few things along the way.

——————————–

Thanksgiving is more fun when someone else cooks the meal. We had a prepared meal from Cracker Barrel and it was surprisingly GOOD!

Yes, our daughter is sitting in the middle of the table in a Bebe Pod, clearly we need to invest in a high chair.

Emma LOVES mashed potatoes, green beans and shredded turkey.

Emma does NOT love cornbread dressing. I can’t blame her, I thought it was pretty gross myself and opted for a quick fix of Stove Top turkey dressing.

nucky stuffing

Who needs pie for dessert when gnawing on the plate is just as pleasing.

Aw how adorable! My niece had her first thanksgiving this year and it was also her first trip down the wonderful world of SOLID FOODS so it was a fun adventure ha!

  2. lol – this is so cute! I love the bebe pod in the middle of the table, haha. It’s better than tying your child to a chair, though, which is what we did for my baby’s first Thanksgiving! It was so funny, and I was prepared to grab the whole chair and run should there be a fire… ;-)

  3. Adorable!
This was Bella’s first turkey day too. She was to little yet to eat that stuff but I did put a tad bit of whip topping on her tongue and she seemed interested. lol.

    Adorable :)
We were at home too, alone. First time in years, it was different but good. Things are just a little tough this year and we didn’t go to my or hubby’s family for Thanksgiving. Still not sure about Christmas, as is right now we’ll be at home alone again.

Adorable! We don’t have a standard high chair either. We have a portable high chair that straps to a regular kitchen chair. We don’t have the room for a high chair, and we can take the portable one off our chair and to grandma’s or out to eat when we need to.

She is adorable! Hey – she gets to sit in the middle of the table – she’s probably loving all the attention. It’s nice that you stayed put for Thanksgiving. We did the same this year. With a 2 year old and a 4 month old – it was a lot less hectic and I actually was able to relax for the first time ever.

  10. What adorable photographs — my favorite is the one of the cornbread stuffing, I don’t like it either.
Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
