New Recipe Blog Food for 5
Food for 5 Recipes — By Cat on September 15, 2009 at 11:26 AM | 1,345 PAGE VIEWS |I’ve finally been able to find a home for all of my “From Cat’s Kitchen” recipes and turn it into a new blogging adventure. I’m no gourmet chef, nor I am I Paula Deen but my family enjoys the recipes I whip up in the kitchen (just look at my husbands waist line). And I hope to pass those on to everyone else..after all, great food should never be kept a secret.
If you would have asked my mom (who is a fabulous cook by the way) 10 years ago if I was a decent cook, she most definitely would have said, “this girl has no business in the kitchen.” Right after my 18th birthday I moved in with my fiance (now husband) and cooked him our very first meal as a couple. It was fried chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and green beans. Not ten minutes after I started the stove there was a knock at the door.
me: hi, what are you guys doing here?
my mom: oh just checking to see how things were going
my dad: we came to make sure you didn’t burn down the apartment
Their fears for the safety of my kitchen weren’t completely unfounded. I did once set a toaster oven on fire and completely smoked out a microwave after cooking pizza in it for 54 minutes rather than 5 mins and 40 seconds.
But life has changed, I grew up and had a family that depended on someone to feed them. Thus, Food for 5. There will be plenty of features debuting over the next few weeks but please do come by and check out what’s already available, including..

LOL It’s a running joke that he gets another “ring” around his waist every year he gets older. He’s fed well, what can I say.

This sounds so great! I am trying new things to cook for our family. We are a large family as well. My hubby and I have added “rings” as well in our 10 years together… now we are trying to get rid of them. I cant wait to see your site!
