Sleeping Arrangements

snoringcoupleThe strangest thing went about in our bed last night. Something on my internal clock went haywire and I ended up falling asleep shortly after 9pm. Well, I just happened to be snuggled up and warm in my husband’s “spot”…his side of the bed, his pillows, his half of the blanket. Who would have thought this would cause such a ruckus all night. My poor husband barely got a wink of sleep, tossing and turning, by 5am he was demanding his pillows back. For those that don’t sleep with me (which I imagine is everyone here lol) you wouldn’t know that once I’m out…I’m out! There’s no bargaining for pillows, or even moving me. The result…I got some fabulous beauty sleep and he got…well….a typical night that I usually get.

This got me to thinking…do you and your spouse have set in stone sleeping arrangements? Does it disrupt your entire night if those arrangements get adjusted?

I know for us they do. On the night’s my hubs gets kicked to the couch he sleeps like a baby while I toss and turn all over our big California King sized bed. Or there are the nights I just prefer his spot and he has to wait until I’m dead asleep to roll me back to my side of the bed.

I’m the same way unless it comes to a Marriott…those beds are to die for! I’d trade my house and sleep on one of their beds in a dark alley. LOL

We have our own sides of the bed. We have our own pillows. If our pillows get mixed up, we have a hard time sleeping. If, heavan forbid, one of the kids has a bad dream and has to crawl into bed with us, we get no sleep.

LOL I know what you mean. Kaydee crawled in with us the other night and I couldn’t get a wink of sleep with her bony little foot in my ribs every 10 minutes.

    Cat,

My husband is very accomodating, but does like a good pillow. Despite this, he will still sacrifice for me. I’m a little bit different. If I’m really sleepy (in a car, just moved into our home w/o a bed not being set up, etc.), then I will sleep anywhere, but under normal circumstances I always prefer to sleep on the side away from the door. I don’t have an explanation for this. I also prefer to sleep w/my husband in the bed because I like to snuggle against him, so when he’s away, I get some alright, but not great sleep. I used to sleep in his spot, but when he’s not home, then I get a bed full with three little people who can’t seem to find their own beds. California kings are just not big enough!

Also, we have the most uncomfortable looking chair, that gives the best sleep ever. I have spent many a well rested night in that chair.

We always sleep on the same sides of the bed…at least when we are both at home. I can sleep almost anywhere, but I think it would throw me all off to sleep on “her” side of the bed.

Ah, you really are supposed to sleep in bed. I have been telling my Hubby that for years but thinks you are supposed to do the hanky panky in bed. I knew I was right all along. Thanks for clearing that up for me, I will pass the word on to him. lol

No, really I love to sleep on his side of the bed when he is not in there. Why, I have no idea. I even use his pillows. But, if he is in bed I have to be on my own side and have my own pillows or I can not sleep (we will not discuss why we ended up on the wrong sides, but we did). I have this thing about “MY” pillow. No one is to EVER use my pillow. I may just blow up in their face if they use my pillow, same goes for my blankie. Yep, I have a blankie. Well actually I have several blankies but, most of them are old. I guess you could say I am spoiled when it comes to that. I have to have a nice soft Beaderlack blanket when I am watching TV. Once they get older and not so soft they get passed on………..okay, okay I will stop, I know you only asked one question, sorry! lol

I have the left side of the bed and dh has the right side. I have to have my down pillow and if he takes it I cant sleep. It’s odd though that if I do fall asleep on his side of the bed I cant sleep as well. I have to have my side! Glad you got a good nights sleep! :)

I can not sleep anywhere my husband is not, unless its our bed. He works 3rds so I try to stay on his schedule. But I can sleep fine as long as I have my blanket. Weird but yes I still have that special blanket.
