Today’s topic is “6 things you’ve made during your lifetime that you were proud of (can be a craft, a dish, . . . anything).” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .
Here are my six…
1. I baked an awesome cake! – Now if you turned back the clock 8 years ago when I walked out of my parent’s house at the tender age of 18, you wouldn’t believe I could do this. I was such a bad “housewife” that my parents came to check on me the first night I made my fiance dinner to make sure I didn’t burn our apartment down. But check out the 3 tier cake I did for my daughter’s 1st birthday. The fondant isn’t perfect but hey, it tasted great!
2. I quilted – Well, sort of. I went out an bought a little Barbie sewing machine because I got a hair up my butt to make my daughter a quilt. No clue what I was doing. Never used a sewing machine before, heck, I didn’t even touch needles before because they spent more time in the tip of my finger than the fabric.
3. I designed a police car – I know that sounds weird, but there aren’t too many perks to being the Captain’s Wife other than no tickets and this. The department restriped their squad cars and I submitted my graphics for the new design and they loved it! Too bad I can’t slap a “designed by his wife” notice on there. Terrible pic, it’s dark and late.
4. I even tried my hand at making bath bombs/bath fizzies – call ‘em what you want, I never did get the hang of it. They kept fizzing on me before they would ever dried.
5. I grew flowers and they actually came BACK this year – You have no idea how much of an accomplishment that is for me, both of my thumbs are brown. This is a terrible picture because it’s at night. And I made a little mistake. No one told me they would make babies and 4 plants would turn into 20. Ooops.
6. I seem to make babies pretty well – but just because you’re good at it doesn’t mean you need to make a habit of it. LOL No more babies for this house.

Oh man, you are quite talented, I’m in awwe. You do have an awesome blog that I am trying to aspire to be like.

The cake’s antennae–genius! I’m in total agreement with you about the kiddos, my mom keeps saying we should have another and I’m borrowing your line!
Love it all 6 of those things, but you have to admit #6 rules and is by far the cutest and most precious of them all
good job Mommy
I think designing your own police car is very cool.
What an awesome group of things to be proud of. The cop car; now that is interesting. Good for you.
Great list Cat! Love the cake and quilt, very sweet! And the fact that you designed the graphics for the car is very neat.
Awesome list! And that cake is amazing!
Cat,
The cake is gorgeous! I keep saying I am going to try something outrageous for one of the girls birthday, but I chicken out. Maybe this year. Yay on the quilt. I am terrified of sewing machines, and my MIL story of sewing her fingers together did not help! So cool about designing the police stripes for the cruisers, I agree, they should let it say designed by the chief’s wife. As for the making babies…yay I do that so well, I have 5. LOL No more for this house either though.
Such a beautiful cake!
Great list!!! I agree the babies are your best talent – they are gorgeous!
My second fave is the Police Car – how cool, not to many people can claim that.
Looks like you have every right to be proud of all your accomplishments! It all seemed pretty darn amazing-especially that police car! Who can say you designed a whole squad of police cars?!
