Small Talk Six – Travel

smalltalksix125The ladies of MomDot are at it again with a new weekly meme called Small Talk Six. Every Saturday a new topic is announced and you respond to each topic with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, or 6 photos, whatever your heart desires. You can check out the Small Talk Six announcement to see all of the pre-scheduled topics for 2009. Don’t forget to stop by and see this week’s responses!

This weeks topic is…

6 places you would like to travel to if you had someone trustworthy to watch your children and pets

With the addition of our third child, the idea of travel is far from our minds. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere without them. There’s so much beauty in the world for them to see, I would definitely love for them to see these places as much as I would love to myself.

1. Jackson Hole, Wyoming – When I was a child my family and I traveled here many times. For me, there’s nothing more beautiful than a mountain range.

2. Negril, Jamaica – Aside from the not-my-style food available here, thank goodness they do have Pepsi though, this is one of the most memorable places I’ve ever visited. My kids deserve to see this way of life and beauty some day.

3. Disneyland – I’m probably the only person in the U.S. that has never been there. It’s funny, as a kid, I had no desire to go, fairytale stuff just wasn’t my thing. But now that I’m a mom I look forward to the day I’ll be able to share this magical world with my kids.

4. San Antonio, TX Riverwalk – Strangely, after my short stint with Basic Training here as part of the Air Force National Guard, I swore I’d never go back to Texas. But for some reason I do look forward to seeing the Riverwalk.

5. Redwood National Park in California – I’ve dreamed of seeing these trees in person since my parents brought back pictures from their trip when I was too little to go. I still hound them to this day about not going on that trip. They thought at 3 I wouldn’t remember anything, it’s funny how I remember being stuck at my Aunt’s house while they were there without me.
travel5

6. Italy – I don’t care where, just anywhere in Italy. I’m such a huge fan of Italian food. I think I’d like to just go house to house and sample REAL Italian food.
