The Rainbow Rake is exactly as it sounds, a plastic rake that holds up to 5 crayola chalk crayons that creates a rainbow drawing as you drag it along the pavement. It was easy for the kids to get carried away with this one as they painted the neighborhood with rainbows running along the side walk. The best part is it was easy enough for our toddler to use and fun enough for our oldest to created designs. The Rainbow Rake does go through chalk very quickly but fortunately side walk chalk is an inexpensive replacement in comparison to battery operated toys.
Crayola 3D Chalk Kit

This small package packed a lot of fun for my 7 year old son. Included in the kit was a set of Safari themed stencils, 3D paired chalk colors, side walk paint with a brush and 3D glasses. The included guide gave him lots of ideas on how to create a mini masterpiece right in our driveway. I’m perfectly okay with admitting I was right there on the side walk with him tracing stencils and painting the tree. Creating a 3D effect with the chalk was easy because the colors are already paired up in one stick of chalk to get the most vivid effect. We gave it a try on the tree lizard and with the 3D glass on my son shouted out “his eyes are popping out of his head.” I’ll have to take his word on that. (due to a visual impairment I’m unable to see 3D visuals)

i don’t know about the rainbow rake, sounds like it would be cool for about five minutes but I love the 3D chalk – how cool!!! And stencils for those of us who are a bit drawing-skill-impaired. We need to try this…thanks for telling me about it!
