Wordless Wednesday – Princess Party Planning

I’m one of those moms. You know, the kind that does the big fancy shmancy birthday party for the child that will never remember it. The 1st birthday. It’s probably the most special of all of them to me and I like to celebrate it big – from the cake to the decorations and everything in between.

Little Miss Emma’s 1st birthday is just 2 months away and I’m already getting excited finding the perfect party supplies…the only thing left is finding the perfect tutu. If anyone has any suggestions of a tutu maker they’ve used and loved, I’d love to hear about them!

My to do list over the next month includes doing a trial run on that beautiful castle cake, ordering party supplies, a custom onesie and like I said above, a tutu for her birthday girl outfit.

I am actually looking for a tutu for my little girl too! Her first birthday is in April. I found a whole bunch of cute Etsy sights out there BUT I’m not sure of the quality. Happy Birthday to Emma and have fun planning!

  3. Rhea says:

I do huge parties, too. I think the princess party will be a blast and I can’t wait to see it!

How exciting. I love that cake!

  5. Alicia says:

Great theme! Sadly my two little boys would not look back upon pictures of them in tutus too fondly. lol :)

  6. That cake looks awesome! Good luck with that. And, you know I love a personalized onesie and tutu on a birthday girl. What fun.

  7. Brandy says:

You really do go all out! Can I adopt you as a my mother for my birthday? LOL I love birthdays! Happy WW, a tad early!

  8. Annie says:

I haven’t heard of a tutu maker, I just make my own, tying tule over elastic and hot gluing flowers on it.

I can’t wait to see all the pics – this is going to be a a fabulous birthday!!

My daughter’s first bday was Mother Goose themed – I made a little bo peep cake with sheep cupcakes and that was the extent of my decorating. LOL I am terrible at parties, but I have high aspirations!

  9. That sounds like so much fun!

Wow after reading that I kinda feel like I’ve jipped all 4 of my kids. I’ve never made a big deal out of the first birthday just because I knew they wouldn’t remember but it looks like Emma will have a great one! Happy WW!

  11. Emilie says:

Wow, can’t wait to see the cake when you are done! I’m sure it will look fantastic. I can’t believe she is almost one already! Has this year flown by or what?

    • Cat says:

It really is scary to look at her and realize just how quickly this year has gone by. My last baby is growing up. :-(

  12. Sheena says:

I was that mama last year, lol. We had a Super Mario cake with decor. We didn’t do clothing though, wish we did! Emma’s party is going to be so much fun, I can tell. I can’t wait to have a little girl. I am totally doing tutus and chocolate and pink polka dots!

    • Cat says:

Watch out, it becomes an obsession. After having all things boy for 6 years before the girls came along it looked like someone vomited Pepto Bismol all over the house. Now I just can’t help myself with all the girlie things.

  13. Catherine says:

Ahh..two months and Sarah will be 1 as well..and I have not even started planning…I shall now have to start planning..at least we have a location..:)

  14. That cake is awesome. Did you already buy the pan. I am trying to convince my sister to get it so i can make my niece’s birthday cake this coming year. LOL! (I have no girls, I do not need the pan personally…)

  15. Tammy says:

I used to do that, but then I had my second one and it was just too much work.

  16. I love big parties as well! She’s going to be adorable!

As for a tutu – that consignment store by County Market has them. I think they can order one for you as well. Adorable and VERY affordable. You might check it out!
