Sometimes I get a bit off track, especially when it comes to spending time online. As much as I try to stick with my routine, I do falter. The balance of “real life” vs “cyber life” is one that’s very hard to maintain, but I do try by keeping a schedule.
When the girls are both awake, I give as much undivided attention to them as possible without going brain dead from boredom of the same peek-a-boo game over and over again. Then I take a little 15 minute computer break that would involve email, twitter, blogging comments, etc. Sometimes, that 15 minute break gets a little extended. It’s then that I get the gentle reminder from the little people I love so dearly.
In one swift move, she’s around my chair and poking up that beautiful little smile right under the keyboard. It’s a face that just can’t be bargained with and shouldn’t be bargained with. There’s nothing more precious than the time a stay at home mom gets to spend with her children. The cyber world can wait, her beautiful smile can’t.

Cat,
You’re so right. I write this as three little people sit patiently in my office waiting for me to give them their geography lesson. It’s time to move away from the keyboard.
Emma’s little face is a hard one to ignore. She’s a beautiful little girl.
So precious and so true! Thank you for sharing.
I tend to get a bit sidetracked when it comes to the computer to and I have to make sure I do all I need to BEFORE i get on or else forget it!
Hahaha that’s funny. Mine brings so many toys to me and piles them up around me that I can’t see the computer anymore LOL
OMgosh is she too cute.
Kids do the craziest things to get our attention don’t they
you are so right there is no way I could say no to a smile like that either
As I read your great post (with that great picture) there is a 5 year old waiting for me to come play ball with him….so I guess the point is…go play!
Love it! And you are so right, you really can get lost in cyberspace.
What a gorgeous photo!!! It’s good when real life people remind us to get off of the computer lol
How utterly adorable is that!?
I have a very hard time balancing the two lives as well-The sad thing is I don’t really have much of a ‘real’ life and I haven’t for a couple years now so it really is like my whole life is online.
She’s such a cutie!
You are so right!Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up. And who can resist that smile?
This is so true Cat. So true.
I can’t see how you could resist that face. My son brings me books when I’ve gotten distracted.
So true….how could you make that cutie wait? She’s so precious!
I love the name of your post… and it is beautifully written. I wish all parents felt the same way you did. I see so many parents ignoring their children when they are with them by being on the phone or texting instead of interacting with them, you are a wonderful mother. Plus you are SO right… how could anyone ignore Emma’s gorgeous smile!!
amen sista! I completely agree.
