Baby Days are Slipping Away

For me, the first year in my children’s lives is always the sweetest and saddest. They quickly go from helpless infants to independant walkers with the blink of an eye. At the same time, being here for every single milestone and watching them develop day by day is akin to a miracle for me.

At some point in the last week, Emma decided she was ready to get on her knees in a crawling position and start rocking. My memory is failing me because I don’t remember our first doing this quite this early. Either way is makes me smile and a little sad at the same time.

I know what you mean. I watch my 1 year old in amazement of how big he’s getting and so fast. Just turning into a little person is so wonderful to see!

Yes, you are right…those baby days go by in a flash! My “little” ones are now 7 & 5 and we all love to look through our scrapbooks to remember those days. Cherish them, and I am so happy for you that you get to be home with them to witness all those precious little “firsts”.

Emma is just so darn cute! I can’t remember how old she is?
But I love the pics – nothing cuter than a lil’ babe in just a diaper!!! And that photo with her brother – simply precious!!!!! What beautiful smiles! :-)
Take care Cat and thank you for sharing!

Goes by so fast! I can’t believe how big she’s getting! What a little cutie she is! And Mattison looks like such a sweet big brother! :)

  6. Krystyn says:

Oh, she’s a doll. Nat still won’t get up on all fours, but she sure can army crawl anywhere.

  7. Thanks for the follow, adorable pictures. I am following you as well :)

It sure is bittersweet, isn’t it?

  9. Brandi says:

How cute! Why does it seem that time goes by faster when it is your last baby. You desperately want them to stay little, and they keep amazing you by growing faster and faster!

  10. Stefani says:

I totally understand where you are coming from. My youngest is a year and a half and he is growing up so fast. He is also my last so no more babies until my kids give me grandchildren which I don’t wish for anytime soon.

  11. wow is she ready for that already I can’t believe it!! Gorgeous pictures

  12. Beautiful photos!! It’s hard when they grow up… I still remember my little ones. Don’t worry, they will ALWAYS need you, mine still do, even all grown up (18 & 21) and moved out.

  13. It really does fly… And it’s so bittersweet! I miss those baby days! My youngest will be 2 next month, and as you know, is at an age where he doesn’t want to be babied anymore! =(
    Your kids are so adorable!!

My oldest just turned four not too long ago and it’s a very saddening moment LOVING but sad for me. She’s a cutie pie.

  15. Kayla says:

    Aw, too cute!
I can understand how it makes you happy and sad at the same time. It’s good to feel those emotions though. They should be felt instead of pushed aside =]
