40 Weeks Pregnant – Checkup and Belly
Alright ladies, this isn’t funny anymore. My little girl is fully baked and is being pretty stubborn. My OB has officially put me on the countdown and will force me to do an induction by March 6 if this little one doesn’t come on her own. After today’s appointment we found that I’m now 4cm dialated, plug is gone, blood pressure is still good and I go back in one week for an ultrasound to make sure...

Rough Start to Week 40
My due date is actually 2 days away, but being Sunday I look at it like the start of week 40 of my pregnancy. Unfortunately, things are slowly getting worse. Again, lots of contractions in the evening but they seem to simmer away as I relax. That I can live with, my body is just practicing. What I can’t take right now is the fact that I may be sick.

Unwelcome Hospital Guests
9.5 times out of 10 I go out of my way not to hurt anyone’s feelings, especially my in-laws. I’ve spent 8 years walking on egg shells with them, putting on a smile when I wanted to bare my teeth, holding my tongue when they gave unsolicited an often absurd advice…you get the idea. Yes, they are genuinely nice people, but their religion is a major put-off for me. I’m open to many things, but the...

39 Weeks
Okay, I’ll admit, my posting has slowed down quite a bit, I feel terrible that I haven’t been able to keep up online the last couple of days. The last few pounds of baby weight has really been slowing me down in just about every aspect of my life. They say you gain a pound week…or maybe the baby does…I can’t quite remember, during the last month of pregnancy. Well, it feels more like 10lbs...

Early Signs of Labor?
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about giving birth to two children and soon a third, it’s labor is very unpredictable. I honestly can’t remember what the days leading up to both of my children’s birth was like but writing it down may have been helpful. Since I didn’t know when things would get going it never occured to me to pay attention to the little changes.

Tick Tock – The countdown to Delivery
So I’m officially down to 11 days before D-Day…Delivery Day that is. The truth is your due date is just a date the doctor gives you to count down to and often find yourself wallowing in self pity and disappointment when the day comes but the baby doesn’t.

Hiccups in the Womb
Some pregnant women never experience this, others do while having no idea what it is. And a few will call up their doctor for fear something is wrong with the baby. The great news is while your baby having hiccups during pregnancy may be annoying at times, it’s perfectly normal and healthy. Some researchers even suggest that an baby having hiccups in the third trimester is a good sign of lung development because...

Hormones & Headaches
I honestly don’t know what’s been going on with me the last couple of days. Maybe it’s pregnancy hormonal changes or even the weather. It did get unusually warm the last two days. I’ll stand up and admit, I do have issues with seasonal depression, mainly in the fall and spring. So yes, rapid weather changes do tend to affect my mood but this is craziness.

37 Weeks – Think Good Thoughts
I don’t know where 36 weeks went, it just flew right on by I suppose. Here I am just 3 weeks away from my due date and in a minor panic mode. I’ve been driving myself crazy trying to make sure we have everything in place, full well knowing that NOTHING is ever truly in place when a newborn enters the house. I spent the wee hours of the night researching options and hospital policies when it comes to “natural...
