Happy Valentine’s Day from 3 Kids and Us

When I went to bed last night, I truly wasn’t sure how this day was going to turn out. With a stomach/intestinal virus sweeping our family all week, I was sure I was going to spend the morning with my face next to a garbage can. But by some miracle, after sending my husband out at 10:30pm to get me some fresh ginger root, today I woke up feeling absolutely fabulous. We still have a few residual consequences of the virus, but in general, I’m feeling a lot better and so is most of the family.

This morning, I ran out to get my Valentine’s Day shopping done since I hadn’t been able to all week and let me tell you, the goodies were scarce. I had the best luck of finding a few things I was looking for at Walmart, but places like Walgreens and Meijers were just cleaned out to nothing more than a few cards. I also managed to grab the baking goods I need for our traditional heart shaped sugar cookies I’ll be baking this afternoon.

Thinking about Valentine’s Day, I feel like this holiday is more than just a day to rekindle and celebrate the love between husband and wife. It’s also a day to remind the ones you love most, just how loved they truly are.

Jonathan – Today I celebrate 10 years of love with you and think of how blessed I am to be married to someone that loves me more than I love myself. The kind of love that goes out into the snow and cold to get me something to make me feel better when I’m sick. The kind of love that has rubbed me gently each night for 10 years so I could fall asleep, even when you said you would only do this when I was pregnant. For that, I know how much I mean to you and how much you mean to me.

Mattison, Emma, Kaydence – There are no words for the love I feel for each of you. Know that I would give my life so that you could live and know that every time you smile, you laugh, you snuggle in my arms, it’s all the thanks I need for giving you life.

Stefanie, Kayla, Kim, Jennifer, Louise, Tricia and everyone that is here with my everyday, sharing in my life … I love you … for being a friend when I need one, for bringing a smile to my face when I’m sad, for being just an email or comment away, for being there!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

    Have fun making cookies!

  4. Cat,

You totally kill me. I probably would have let the day go by doing something at home and not bothered going out like you did to make sure traditions continued in your home. Gosh, now I have to make Valentine’s Day cookies because Cat is doing it and she’s half sick.

I’m sending love back at you because I really appreciate you, your honesty, and I love that you keep it real when talking about life and raising kids. We do the best we can because we love them. Cat, you’re also great for a good laugh :) ! Thanks because I need a few every once in a while.

Family and friends are precious and I thank God everyday for each and every one of them I have. Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your family!!!
