Spice Up Dinner with Pace’s Bold New Salsas

Dinnertime in a house of five can get pretty repetitive and mundane at times. There’s a lot of palates to please and little time to do it in. One of my favorite ways to keep dinner different and exciting is to take a meal we typically cook and add a new ingredient to change up the flavor.

We were recently introduced to the new specialty line of salsas from Pace and had the opportunity to try out two of the new bold flavors.

apaceBlack Bean & Roasted Corn Salsa

Traditionally, corn has been a background player in salsa. So we decided to give it a leading role. To do that, we roast our corn over an open flame for a smoky flavor that really grabs the spotlight. Co-starring is the earthy taste and texture of black beans.

picoPico De Gallo Salsa

Pico is all about the ingredients. Tomatoes firm enough to survive a good dicing. Fresh jalapeños and just enough heat to scare you. Onions you can practically hear when you bite into them. Cilantro, because it’s really not Pico without it.

To make dinner more interesting we took our simple butter fried chicken over white recipe and spiced it up by mixing in the Pico De Gallo Salsa for a hot, new spicy Salsa Chicken meal. Watch for the full recipe later this week in a new edition of From Cat’s Kitchen.

pace2To put the flavor simply, hot, hot, hot! This is some seriously kicked up salsa that my taste buds just couldn’t handle. My husband on the other hand is a smiling fan of it. He loved the the spicy junks of fresh jalepeno peppers!

I was feeling a little burned from the spicy side of the Pico De Gallo and made myself a mellow late night snack. Warm Velveeta cheese covered in a heaping pile of the Black Bean & Roasted Corn salsa drizzled with a bit of lime juice was the perfect combination. Being able to visually identify the mix of corn kernels, chopped red peppers, tomatoes, black beans and fresh vegetables is what makes the perfect salsa for me.

pace

In addition to the Pico De Gallo and Black Bean & Roasted Corn, Pace has added a new lineup that includes Pineapple Mango Chipotle Salsa, Triple Pepper Salsa, Tequila Lime Salsa, Mexican Four Cheese Salsa con Queso and Salsa Verde. All of which are now available in stores.

Oh, sad to hear that the Pico de Gallo is really HOT. I LOVE Pico de Gallo but can’t do the spicy…

Thanks for your honest review! Otherwise I would have bought it and then never even finished the jar (no one else in the house eats salsa but me).

Hopefully Pace will come out with a MILD Pico… I really love their thick & chunky salsa and the Pico would have been a nice change of pace lol.

I love the way the salsa con queso came out looking. I have yet to find a good premade salsa that our family will eat, instead I’m bugging my aunt for homemade batches.
