I cringe admitting this, but it’s true, I’m now a fan of Twilight. Purely out of curiosity over all the hub bub that has been going on over the book series and movies, I asked my husband to go rent Twilight so I could get it over with.
Honestly, I thought it was going to be just another vampire movie and knowing nothing will ever outdo Bram Stoker’s Dracula, in my mind, Twilight was going to be a disappointment.
But it wasn’t.
Not only was I sucked into it, but my husband was as well. How’s that for surprising? What I would define as a romantic movie actually captured his attention, something he’d usually never connect with. And yes, for the record, “Edward” is gorgeous. What can I say, pale is the new tan and I rock it quite well.
Now that I’m officially apart of the Twilight addiction I just knew I had to read the books, except I was in no mood to go tromping through the snow to get to Barnes & Noble. It was then that I remembered a very lovely woman, Erin, representing Box Tops for Education sent me the sweetest holiday gift – a $25 Barnes & Noble Gift Card. But what made this gift card truly special is not only could I use it toward the Twilight series of books but buy purchasing through the the Box Tops for Education Marketplace, 6% of the sale went towards my son’s elementary school earnings.
If you haven’t already, you can sign up to earn money for your child’s school at Box Tops for Education online and shop the online retailers, each offering a different donation percentage, for the school of your choice.
The only thing left for me to do now is sit here waiting patiently until my new books arrive. As a warning, I may disappear into the bath tub reading for 4 days straight…no search parties please.

You will LOVE the books, enjoy them!!
I got the set of books for our daughter for Christmas (really I wanted them) and she is usually a pretty slow reader so I said to her “You have one month to finish the first book, then I’m taking it and reading it myself.” Well, Miss-I-AM-A-Slow-Reader finished it in 2 1/2 days and started the second one. Yippie! It would have been nicer if she would have told me that she finished it. lol I can not wait to start reading it. I am making myself finish the book I am on first.
I didn’t realize that you could sign up for box tops online, that’s cool. I love the Twilight Series as well. *sigh*
lol enjoy your books!
I also had no idea you could BUY through this organization and have even more go to their schools. We clip EVERY single boxtop point for our kids already…but my kids love to read and this would even do MORE! thanks for the head’s up!
I’ve read all four books, but, as a mother of several daughters, three of them teenagers, I am not a fan of the books. I think the heroine is a terirble role model for girls.
Interesting. So I take it this book series was written for teens? I was under the impression it was an adult series but didn’t look at the info on it.
You will definitely be gone for 4 days..at least!
And, we love the Box Tops, too. I give them to our daycare every year and they actually get quite a bit of money!
I remember when I first read the books. I didn’t think they would swallow my mind – but they did. I read all four books in a matter of days!! And on top of that, for months on end, I couldn’t stop thinking about Twilight. Everything had some sort of Twilight connection!!
Now, over a year after the first time I read the books – I have re-read the series 3 times! I still love it!
I’m sure that you’ll enjoy it.
HAHAHA!!! Now you’re one of us!
Cat – Here’s a link to a friend’s blog post about it who shares a similar view to my own: http://barbsbookshelf.com/?p=68#comments
I was not aware of the box tops on line but Twilight is one thing that I am very aware of the fascination over this book has moved to many people that I know including my daughters and one son, sister in law, as well as many friends
Welcome to the club HAHA! I read ALL the books in 5 days and it would have been faster if I didn’t have to keep stopping to go by the next book…get them all at once!
Welcome to the dark side! My husband was pulled in by the baseball scene with Muse playing.
I read the books right before all the hype started (I think…I didn’t really pay much attention) lol. And only b/c my sister had bought all of them and loved them. I wasn’t really expecting to get in to them, but I did! I read them so fast and hated finishing the last one!
Go see New Moon!
I agree with Stefanie!
Welcome to Twilighters Anonymous
The books are so much better than the movies too!
I am always jealous of folks who didn’t read the book yet. Lucky you! I have read the books two times already and they are even better the second time.
Enjoy!
I LOVE LOVE LoVE the series. I have reread it like 5 times (shhhhhh dont’ tell).

Yep, you can count me as completely sucked in too! I didn’t even buy the book until I saw it a few months ago in a used book store for a couple of bucks. I was up to that point, refusing to give in to the hype. I accomplished absolutely nothing over the next week as I completely devoured the entire series. And don’t even ask me how many times I have watched the first movie, it’s truly embarrassing…LOL
