Naming a child under most circumstances can be one of the most difficult choices you have to make during pregnancy. For us, it’s always been pretty easy. We find out the gender, go through our short list of favorites and say…yep, that’s the one. End of story. Well….not this time. Since this will be our surprise baby we are forced to pick two names, one for a girl, and one for a boy. While the suspense of it all is taxing, I promised myself if we ever had a 3rd, it would be a surprise. Now normally we’d wait until later in the pregnancy to choose a name but since we know we have to pick one of each we decided now is as good as time as any, and I have a feeling everything will be okay with my little bean. We’ve seen him/her growing right on track, listened to the heartbeat twice….everything should be okay (fingers crossed).
Anyways, my husband and I made a list then started crossing off the ones we definitely weren’t agreeing with. For girls, those were Alexis, Bailey, Bridgette, Cecilia, Claire, Darcy, Georgia, Gracie, Hailey, Isabelle, Lydia, Lexi, Olivia, Paige, Rianne, Sadie, Savannah, Shelbi, Sienna, Stella, and Tempest. Our boy list was, Brady, Bryce, Carter, Denver, Drew, Hunter, Lance, Lawrence, Lawson, Marshall, Parker, Preston, Reece, and Warren.
After little debate, we each picked our 5 favorites from each list and then chose among the ones we both picked, which were….Claire and Savannah….and…….Carter and Hunter.
I then decided to go through my family tree to choose the middle names. We decided on Sue from my mother’s side of the family, it is her middle name….and Reid was my dad’s grandfather’s middle name. The pickings were slim when you’ve got family names like Dallas, Herbert, Nellie and Gladys.
And for the final picks….

Oh! I LOVE the names you picked! I think Savannah and Hunter are both so precious! And I love how you got the middle names.
Claire was going to be our name if it had been a girl, and Carter is a name that hubby has wanted for a boy since we found out we were pregnant with Zander almost 6 years ago!
Can’t wait to find out what you have. I just can’t believe you’re making me wait so long! LOL!
Hey hun… I love the names. Kudos hun. I hope to see you at the Luau this weekend… bring the kids! Cade has a special little luau shirt from LA! Hugs and loves… Lizzie
Both names are so pretty! I’m hoping you have a little Hunter though. I don’t know why but I really hope it’s a boy!
I love them both! I’m pregnant with my second child, so even though I’ve done it before, it’s still so weird to me that you get to name a PERSON. That people will call them that name forever! A lot of pressure =)
