As part of the new series I’m doing, Let’s Get Local, I’m focusing on capturing my life in the midwest state of Illinois, specifically Chatham and the surrounding areas. Today on Let’s Get Local, you get a peek at the view I get every day. At one time I lost appreciation of the beauty and serenity of living surrounded by cornfields and cows. It took 3 years living in the concrete jungle of St. Louis to truly appreciate my hometown.
Without further adew…a local view of Chatham and surrounding structures.

Beautiful pics! I like the 2nd & 4th especially!
It looks like a beautiful area! And it reminds me a lot of where I live-lots of cornfields and woods.
Those are great pictures Cat! I should seriously join you on this one, we have some great areas that are basically in my back yard !
Looks familiar! : )
Beautiful pics Cat! I like the 1st and 4th one the best.
Great Pictures!
Really? You live there?? I LOVE it! That bridge is amazing. I thought I was rural, but you win.
Much better scenery than my town.

Cat,
It is such a wonderful experience to live in such beauty. Before we moved, a few months ago, we were surrounded by strawberry and wheat fields and wouldn’t be surprised to see a peacock or coyote stroll across our yard. We now live in a small country town and are making plans to move back to the country (real rural) in our new home state. It’s definitely a great place to raise children.
You took some great shots. I’m lovin’ the cornfield and covered bridge.
We just visited the concrete jungle of St. Louis this past weekend and had a fun time pounding the pavement.
Great pics! I love the covered bridge! Happy WW!
I’m a country girl too. Love the covered bridge shot. Happy WW!
You got some great pics! Thanks for sharing them!

Great shots!
I love covered bridges!
O love these pictures, reminds me of peace. I could probably walk around there all day!
I love covered bridges. There are so few left. I know of 2 that were destroyed in our state in recent years. We lost one to a flood and one to arson.
Wow !
That scenery is amazing.
I love the bridge!!! You lucky girl – to be surrounded by so much beauty! Thanks for sharing! ♥ Happy WW! ♥
Beautiful!!!
Love the bridge! I lived in Normal, Illinois for awhile…I never did get used to all the corn fields. I’m a mountain girl and they just weren’t the same. Lol!
I love that bridge. I have to find a time to gather pics and research my local area so I can join in with you!
Oh, those are gorgeous!! I didn’t realize you were in IL!
Or maybe I did and don’t remember….Anyway, it’s great to see another Land of Lincoln person Lol
I never knew you were so close to me. Wow I was born and raised in the area you are COOL
I live near StL and would love to live where you do. That is beautiful!
Beautiful pictures! I love the one of the old covered bridge!
I really like that bridge. What is it over?
Very beautiful place! Lucky you!
What a good ideal! I like the idea of showcasing your local area. Your photos remind me of visiting my grandparents and uncles/aunts in Western PA growing up. Lots of corn fields on farms and covered bridges.
Love the bridge. I never appreciate where I live (whether it’s DC, NYC, Germany or the beach in FL) until I have a guest who reminds me how cool it is. I think it’s awesome you’re taking a fresh look at things around you.
That place looks beautiful. Sometimes I miss being out in the middle of nowhere. Happy WW!
