Wordless Wednesday – The Colors of Cat

Far too often I share photos of my kids for Wordless Wednesday, so I thought I’d change it up a bit and poke some fun at myself. Over the years, I’ve gone through some major color changes…particularly my hair. It’s been brown, red, blond…even pink and purple at one point (and it wasn’t Halloween). What can I say, I got bored easily.

Let’s start with my horrific blond dye job in my sophomore year of high school. This was my annual track and field photo. What was I thinking???

bad blond hair

Since we’re on the topic of blond, let’s take a peek at my natural blond moment. It was fabulous while it lasted.

blonde curly baby

Aside for the pimple overload, this was probably my favorite photo and haircut ever.

Let’s not forget the freaky switch to strawberry blond. I figured, hey, I’m already pale, why not rock the red? Of course that was also the same summer I ended up with a tan so the two totally canceled each other out.

Then of course, I just grew out of it all and let me true colors shine through. Don’t mind that I look ragged and tired. Having a baby at 18 wasn’t easy by any means.

And for the grand finale…for your mocking pleasure. The geekiest girl of the 2nd grade. Those glasses are killer. LMAO

If you combined your favorite haircut ever with the strawberry blonde color, you would have “The Scully.” Kim, care to agree? ;)

  22. BK says:

It was not the glasses, it was those pair of blue eyes behind the glasses that are so beautiful. :)

Hubby likes it red, but it doesn’t like to stay and in photos it always looks kinda orange.. like carrot top!
    LOL, Happy WW.

  24. Sharon says:

Those are all good pictures, I really like the strawberry blond. But I can totally relate my hair has also been just about every color there is too, just int he last year black, brown, dark brown, bright red. And when I was younger I was even more brave with the colors.

  25. I have to agree with Rhea, you look good in red hair. You look the same as you did years ago Cat. Your so beautiful.

  26. Great colors, you are great! But I wanted to see the pink and purple! A magical WW to you.

I think all those pictures are great. You are too hard on yourself!

  29. Thank you for making my day better already. Those photos are awesome! I wore glasses like that until I was, like, 12 so I can’t fault you for those. :) I love your favorite hair cut, too. Similar to your recent cut, I think.

  30. Tammy says:

Your school pictures looka lot better than mine did.

  31. Emilie says:

Cat, you are awesome for putting yourself out there. I have some very geeky looking school pictures from the late 80′s which include stick straight long hair with curled and poofy bangs (teased of course) and purple glasses. Ouch!

Thanks for sharing. I loved your pics!

  32. It’s not geeky, you were cute!!!!

  33. LOL Oh Cat! It would be scary if I found my Kindergarten PERM picture.

  34. Shannon says:

What cute photos. You look so different in each…

  35. Annie says:

I should show you my geeky photos! I had some glasses that looked like they were upside down everytime I wore them….where were our parents? Why did they let us pick out those to wear? LOL oh good memories!
I am so glad I am not the only one with embarassing childhood pics!

Oh wow! Those are all great pictures-It’s always good to make fun of yourself now and again(keeps your head from getting too bit Lol).
I too have been through many hair colors…I’ve taken a break from the whole dye job for now, but I would LOVE to be able to dye it purple :)

  50. I think you are adorable in ALL of them Cat!

  51. nicole says:

Where can I get those glasses! ;) I think you looked adorable!

  52. Cat,

You look absolutely gorgeous (in a fellow bloggy mommy way). I really like the strawberry blonde look. It’s funny how we see ourselves verses how other people see us.

So you were a runner? Hmm! I know you’ve been pushing indoor workout programs, but maybe that is where you need to be again. I just started running again, last month, after an eight year hiatus (stopped when I learned I was pregnant w/my oldest). The mornings are absolutely freezing, but it has been such a great high to get outside again. Do you remember those days?

Are those dimples on your face? I have those too as well as all of my children?

I’ll probably be doing a color job on my hair to hide those unwanted gray hairs. Maybe, I’ll go red; yeah right!

  53. How cute were you!!! Adorable photos.

  54. Brandy says:

Those are some great pics though, thanks for sharing the colors of Cat!

  55. I love the one of you on the track…oh to be young again!

  56. Hey, I think I had those SAME glasses in your last pic when I was a kid, but mom put an apple sticker in the corner of them. The next year was a gold initial letters with TS. That was classic. LOL Cute pics!

  57. You. Are. Adorable.

    THE END! lol

  58. I have some pretty bad pictures. My grandma was a beautician, enough said.
