Leave Work Behind with these Stress Busters

March 24, 2017 by admin

No matter how you spend the work day, whether as a vice president responsible for business development like Joseph Cianciotto, a kindergarten teacher or a bus driver, one of the hardest challenges as you face is how to leave the stresses of the job behind you.  There is no question that an inability to manage stress has significant implications for health and mental well-being.  So, if you are looking for ways to reduce the impact that stress has on you on a daily basis, try some these guaranteed stress busters!

Laugh out loud – If you don’t feel like laughing at first, research shows that even a forced or artificial laugh can have a positive effect on stress by encouraging the release of endorphins that will make you feel happier.  If you can laugh with friends, even better because laughing with other people satisfies a need we have to make social connections with other people.  The feeling of sharing an emotional reaction to something funny helps to create a positive sense of “we-ness” that has been shown to contribute to mental well-being and stress reduction.

Blast your music – Music calms the savage beast, and keeps stress at bay too!  It is generally agreed that listing to your favorite music, especially if you are singing along at the top of your lungs, is a great way to reduce blood pressure and stress.

Meditate – If you are one of those people who can’t separate the idea of mediating from the image of people sitting cross-legged and chanting in an incense filled room, you will be pleased to know that this is not the only one way to approach this ancient stress-busting practice.  Many people prefer to practice what is called “active mediation.”  The idea is simply to engage in repetitive, “mindless” activities that require concentration but are not necessarily dependent on conscious thought. The recent craze in adult coloring books is partly related to the stress-busting effect of almost mindless coloring is a great example of the appeal of active meditation.

Breath deep – Deep breathing exercises are a well-known way to relieve stress, in part because they are a form of active meditation. Many people find that when they become focused on their breath and on controlling its rhythms, anxiety falls away because there is no room in your mind for worry.  Additionally, deep breathing can increase oxygen levels in the blood and brain and can contribute to a general feeling of well-being.

Exercise – One of the most reliable ways to bust stress is by engaging in some form of exercise.  Vigorous exercise is known to encourage the release of endorphins, which produces a happy feeling often described as the “runner’s high”.  But you don’t need to engage in sweat-inducing exercise in order to get the benefits.  Research shows that a walk in a park can do wonders to reduce stress levels.

So, the next time you are feeling overwhelmed by stress, try one of these methods to help you find your happy place!

Ways in which You Can Earn From Your Love of Photography

March 24, 2017 by admin

It’s always nice to make money doing something that you love and if photography is your passion then there are lots of ways in which you can make a little cash on the side or even a career from your photography skills. Turning your hobby into a way of earning will mean that you have to work hard and really perfect your skills, you will also need to be professional and try to get hold of the finest equipment possible. Providing you can take great photographs like Radha Singh NJ resident and friend of mine who works professionally as a photographer, then you could make some nice earnings and here is how.

Take Great Shots

The key to making money through photography will obviously rely on the fact that you have a high skill level. The better shots that you can take, the more money you are likely to earn. In order to gain a reputation then you will also need to be able to add something a little different to your photography, a calling card so to speak.

Enter Competitions

There are regular competitions held in magazines and websites which offer cash prizes for the best photographs. If you have taken  shot that you are particularly proud of and think that it could win then enter as many competitions as you can. Competitions are usually held around a particular them such as nature, action, sport etc. If you think that you have snapped a winner and it falls into the right category then you could stand to win some cash.

Work Weddings and Events

Wedding photography might not be the most fun way to take photos but it can earn you a very healthy income. Couples play an awful lot of money for photographers to capture their happy day and  as most weddings take place on a weekend, you could turn wedding photography in to a great weekend earner whilst you pass the rest of your week taking the shots that you want.  Contact event companies and offer your services, they will be able to approach whoever is putting an event on and suggest your name. Snapping events can be a lot of fun and gain you exclusive access to exciting events.

Work With Schools and Colleges

Another good side earner which you could look at is to contact schools and colleges and offer your services for professional shots. Year books and class photos are taken every year and if you can make some good contacts then you could make great money each year from working with schools and colleges, capturing the students and teachers. You will need to be able to develop a large amount of prints if you work with schools and you should ensure that you have the capability and tools to be able to do this.

The key to gaining a reputation as a photographer is to take great shots of high quality, be likable and more importantly be prompt with your prints.

Meet your career goals faster with Distance MBA

March 24, 2017 by admin

For many graduates out there, a Masters’ degree is a must if they are to climb upwards in the world. Be it for promotion at their workplace or as a post-graduate degree, Masters’ degrees always help a person stand out from the crowd. With the number of students with Undergraduate degrees increasing unprecedently over the last few years, many potential employers have started looking towards those with post graduate degrees- especially MBA holders.

Master of Business Administration or MBA is currently one of the most sought after degrees in education. An MBA course touches all important parts of the business world, making the student well versed in the art of business dealings. It is a two year course, like most Masters’ courses- the first year is general business, and students can choose their specializations for the second year according to their interests.

Statistically, an MBA holder is more likely to get employed than his degree-less counterparts. The course has a way of strengthening the students’ leadership, intellectual creativity, analysis and critical thinking, making them better at business in all aspects. Employers instantly see them as assets to the company, so an MBA can unlock a host of career options for anyone.

MBA through Distance Learning

However, not all students can enrol in full time courses. B-Schools are typically expensive, and many students may think twice about joining a class. For working professionals who dream of getting an MBA, it is a hard choice- anyone would hesitate between sacrificing the security of their careers for the sake of a masters’ degree. For students who cannot enrol in full time courses, distance education is the best bet.

Distance learning management refers to courses you can enrol in while working in parallel elsewhere. Distance education comes as a great boon to those who are established professionals already, but dream of an MBA. The student merely has to enrol for an MBA through distance learning course- he need not even go to the college campus.

Many eminent colleges in the nation offer Distance Learning Masters’ courses, but none of them are as reputed as Sikkim Manipal University. SMU has been offering their Distance Education course for decades, and it has done a great job of catering to those who are unable to enrol in full time courses. The student gets all the relevant course material either over post or online. They are also assigned homework in the same way, and submission is done likewise. The student has to visit the campus only for the exams, in the duration of the entire course. An MBA through distance learning is the perfect option for many professionals with dreams, and SMU has done its part in helping realise many dreams over the years.

Ingredients & Baby Skin Care Products: How Important Are They?

March 16, 2017 by admin

Many baby product ingredients on the market have no place on an adult’s skin, let alone on a baby’s delicate skin. Human skin in general is porous, like a sponge, and anything we put onto it soaks right in – sometimes causing quite a bit of damage to the system.

So why do companies use ingredients that seem like they belong more in a science lab than in a personal hygiene product? We can’t be sure of other baby skin care companies’ motivation, but we fear it often comes down to cost, convenience, and pure marketing hype.

Fewer Ingredients is More

Even though we sell baby skin care products, we’ll be the first to tell you that your baby doesn’t need loads of ingredients and tons of products to stay clean and soft. A simple cleanser, lotion, and perhaps a baby diaper rash ointment or a few other gentle products are all an infant requires when it comes to personal care.

Further, a healthy baby certainly doesn’t need ingredients with hard-to-pronounce names that have been synthesized. Plant-based ingredients that are naturally cleansing, hydrating, and healing are good for promoting and maintaining healthy baby skin.

The EWG Says to Avoid These Toxic Ingredients

The ingredients that we and many experts (including the EWG) don’t believe should be in your baby’s creams, soaps, and other personal care products include: talc (known to be a drying agent, a lung irritant, and a possible carcinogen), synthetic fragrance (may cause skin, eye, respiratory, and neurological damage), propylene glycol (a penetration enhancer that easily absorbs into the skin and might be carcinogenic), and 1,4-dioxane and ethylated surfactants (the EWG reports that 57% of baby soap is contaminated with this known breast cancer inducing agent), among others.

Baby Mantra thinks that baby skin care should be made with simple ingredients from nature. Many are known to clean, moisturize, and heal gently, such as nut and vegetable oils, flower essences, and herbs. We want to keep babies protected and feeling good, so we make sure that all of our products – including our popular organic baby lotion – are clean, non-toxic, and naturally safe.
