James Padlock explains the different ways to coach

July 28, 2018 by admin

Every person is a different entity, it is old news that we all have different motivations and we all have reactions. There will always be ways to get the best and the worst out of people and this is very often connected with how you treat an individual. When you become a coach, you have all these factors to consider. You must work out what works best for each of the school or college students and how this can translate to training them to perform to their best, ultimately in matches, a skill that James Padlock has perfected throughout his athletic and coaching career.

There are three main coaching styles, autocratic where you set yourself up as a powerful leader and it is a very much do what I tell you to do, there are variances on how you will tell them to do it, which are discussed below. Autocratic coaching is built on the belief that if you do what you are told to do you will be successful. All of which James will use at varying times with different athletes.

Within the autocratic style there are still ‘two different types of coaching there’s telling and selling. Telling is when the coach decides what the team needs to do, tells them to do it and then expects them to follow his instructions. Selling is when the coach works out what the team needs, explains it to the team and the purpose of it. He then asks the athletes to explain what he has told them, which clarifies understanding, and to then confirm how they will do it. This works for athletes who want to be part of the decision-making process, it gives them the opportunity to ask questions and feel involved.

The democratic approach is where you involve the graduated athletes in their own decision-making process, they become the board members of their team. Again, there are two different approaches to democratic coaching, there is the sharing approach which involves the coach explaining what is required from the athletes, asking them how they think they can achieve this and then bringing these ideas together to confirm what they will do and how they will do it. The other democratic style is allowing, this is where the coach will explain to the athlete what is required of them, and then the athletes will decide how they will achieve their goals and they will make the decision process together, the coach will not have much input after the initial chat.

The third coaching style is laissez faire, the French work meaning Let do (let people do as they wish) this approach leaves all the choices to the athletes. The team form their own coaching center and although the coach will offer support and guidance when approached by the athlete for assistance, they are not completely left in the lake without a paddle!

As we discussed at the beginning all people are different and all teams are different it is very unlikely that a successful coach will stick to one type of coaching for every team he coaches, this is something that James Padlock has perfected over the years and is a major key to his success as a wrestling, football and soccer coach.

Stephen Varanko III Goes Over an Application Checklist for Prospective EMT Paramedics

July 27, 2018 by admin

Obtaining EMT paramedic certifications means completing an education above and beyond that of a high school diploma. In fact, an associate’s degree is the closest comparable degree to the EMT certification. Many actually study far more, which means their certification is closer to a bachelor’s degree. Each state has its own rules and regulations and some local counties have even instated more rules for someone who wants to be accepted to EMT Paramedic training. This is why Stephen Varanko III recommends that people look into the requirements they have to meet specifically in their local area. That being said, the following checklist is generally correct across the board and therefore a good way of preparing yourself for the training.

Stephen Varanko III on an EMT Paramedic Training Checklist

Before you can be accepted onto an EMT training program, you are likely to have to meet the following specifications:

  1. You must be at least 18 years old.
  2. You must hold a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  3. You must have proof of all your immunizations and show that your varicella, mumps, measles, rubella, and tuberculosis vaccinations are up to date. In fact, your TB shots may be no older than six months by the time you start training.
  4. You must complete the Hep C vaccination series. Some EMT courses allow you to indicate that you do not want to take part in that series, but this must be properly documented.
  5. You must complete a college level course in English and math.
  6. You must be able to pass a physical exam, or have completed one in the past 12 months.
  7. You must provide proof of medical insurance.
  8. You must pass a background check.

If you meet the above eight requirements, it is likely that you will be accepted to an EMT training courses. Locations that offer these courses include:

  • Universities
  • Colleges
  • Hospitals
  • Technical schools
  • Firefighter training centers

Before you enrol in a paramedic school or EMT training program, Stephen Varanko III recommends that:

  • You look at the reputation of the program and the qualification you will received.
  • You look at how much the program costs, but you shouldn’t let this be the deciding factor in whether or not you should enrol. Financial aid is generally available.
  • You find a program that prepares you for the NREMT examination and certification. This is the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and must be passed if you want to become licensed as a paramedic.
  • You learn about the expectations of the training and its schedule.

Once you start your training, you must be fully committed to completing it and be consistent in your work. If you find that the schedules or routines are difficult for you to cope with, you should speak to a guidance counselor at your school as soon as possible so that they can find an appropriate solution. Once you become certified, you will embark in a challenging career that is both very rewarding and very difficult to manage. It takes a very special person to be able to do this job and if you believe that you are that special person, then you should go for it.

James Feldkamp Provides Tips for Aspiring FBI Agents

July 27, 2018 by admin

The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations) is one of this country’s most important law enforcement agencies. It is respected the world over. James Feldkamp explains that the Bureau was formed in 1908 and they have been at the forefront of development of new forensic techniques and strategies to analyze and solve crimes. Of course, the FBI also plays a hugely important role in Hollywood culture and this has led to many young people aspiring to join the Bureau. For them, James Feldkamp has provided a number of tips to help turn their dreams into reality.

James Feldkamp Provides Tips on Joining the FBI

According to Feldkamp, the FBI is like any other career in as such that those who work the hardest and learn the most have the greatest chance of becoming successful. Specifically, this means:

  1. Getting to know the minimum requirements for acceptance. The FBI has various assessments, interviews, and background checks that all individuals must first pass. Additionally, there is a difference between entry requirements for special agents and for support staff.
  2. Getting to know the different roles that are available within the FBI. Due to Hollywood movies, everybody wants to become a special agent. Naturally, this is the most exciting role in the Bureau as well. Becoming a special agent, however, means being physically strong and being able to keep your cool under very stressful situations. You will be trained in self-defense and in handling firearms properly. This training is so important that the FBI has developed Hogan’s Alley for it, which is an opportunity for prospective agents to apply their training in simulations. However, besides special agents, there are also many behind the scenes operatives who play a hugely important role. The support staff, as they are known, are just as vital in catching the bad guys. They include various experts such as writers, engineers, computer technicians, linguists, fingerprint experts, analysts, cryptologists, and scientists. They have the skills required to analyze crime scenes and use this to find a guilty party.
  3. Getting ready for FBI training. This means taking part in an 18 week program in which you will learn what it means to be an agent. This training takes part at the Quantico, VA Academy, where you will learn about self-defense, handling firearms, personal fitness, and police science. Only those who excel at this are likely to make it very far in the bureau – and in life for that matter.
  4. Getting to know the daily duties of an FBI agent. Before you start to work in the actual field, you will investigate and review different case files. You will work hand in hand with other agencies and officers in order to make sure you have all the relevant information available to you. Furthermore, agents often have to face gore and grime in crime scenes, must learn how to interview both witnesses and suspects, and how to identify experts on different subject matters.

If you can handle all of that, then you may want to consider joining the FBI.

Everything Entrepreneurs Need to Know About Student Loan Refinancing

July 12, 2018 by admin

Refinancing a student loan, as well as qualifying for any other type of loan, is a straightforward process for most people who have regular full-time jobs with a weekly salary. But when you’re an entrepreneur, it’s different.

Whether you are self-employed or own a small business, your income may fluctuate from week to week, monthly, or seasonally. A financial institution may not want to take a risk on the owner of a business with a short track record. However, in most cases, you can still refinance if you know how to prepare for the process. Here are a few tips to help.

Ask the Lender About Alternative Documentation

Full-time employees are required to provide copies of their last few pay stubs when refinancing student loans and other debts. Unless you’re the owner of a business that is structured to give you a regular paycheck, you won’t have that. Instead, your lender may be willing to accept bank statements and tax returns as proof of regular income. You will need to have a conversation with the lender to find out their policies about this and might need to shop around to find one that is accommodating.

Keep Excellent Business Records

All business owners and freelancers should keep excellent records no matter what, but this is even more important if you might be seeking a new loan or a refinance — whether it’s for business or personal reasons. A lender will want to see growth from year to year to make sure your business is profitable and will continue to succeed. Having organized and thorough records also is a good indication that you’re responsible and good at managing finances.

Think Twice About Tax Write-Offs

Nobody wants to pay taxes. Many business owners scour their records for every possible tax credit and deduction they can claim to reduce their tax burden. However, when it comes to applying for a loan refinance, this can work against you. The lower the total income the business reports on its tax return, the less likely its owner will be approved for a loan refinance.

Boost Your Credit Score

Everyone should try to keep their credit score as high as possible, but this is especially important for an entrepreneur. Without a regular source of income, a lender needs proof that the borrower is good at paying bills on time, and the best indicator of that factor is a strong credit score. Experts agree that 750 is a good number to aim for before applying for refinancing.

Obtain a Co-Signer

If all else fails, you can ask a co-signer who has a regular full-time job to help you refinance. Often this is a parent or a spouse who has excellent credit and traditional employment.

If you’re bogged down by student loan debt, not only will refinancing save you a bundle of money, but it can also free up resources that you can invest in your business. If you’re an entrepreneur without a regular salary, don’t give up on the idea of refinancing. The results are worth the extra effort.

Making Use of a Good School Design to Encourage Learning

May 23, 2018 by admin

One World International School is one of many excellent international schools in Singapore. But what sets them apart is how they have used the design for their school to enhance their student’s learning. Yes, all 32,000 square metres of campus is thoughtfully designed to support their world-renowned holistic education framework.

School design and layout is something some of us guardians tend to neglect when choosing an institution for our kids. A study made by the University of Salford and the architects at Nightingale Associates showed that student performance improved by 25% in well-designed schools.

It is hard to deny influence when the improvements are at a whopping 25%. So to understand the role of school design, let’s look into the campus of One World International School.

Adaptable learning environment

One World International School uses an holistic educational philosophy and a values-based learning model. It means that they focus more on encouraging a student’s natural curiosity through positive reinforcement. So most of their work, after discussion, is collaborative and highly practical.

Further, this kind of curriculum does not just expect them to memorise their lessons, but encourages them to share their ideas and theories in class. For this reason, their classrooms need to adapt to the kind of learning environment they are trying to create.

Each classroom is fitted with module furniture so that students can easily group themselves and face each other for their discussions. There is a 24-student limitation so that the noise level is manageable.

Other classroom design involved are the amount of natural light that comes in the room, temperature, and orientation.

Innovative technology

The school does not hesitate to make full use of available technology to improve the learning experience. From using tablets, interactive LED screens, to high quality speakers and access control lockers, One World International School as it all.

Vibrant outdoor school landscape

One World International School has 32,000 square metres of property, so of course it has an impressive outdoor landscape.

Their outdoor field can be accessed by all students and teachers. Well, actually they have 4 sporting fields, a miniature forest that has various flowers and plants, a Sensory Garden, and a Berms and Sand Pit.

The school wants to help students appreciate nature, as well as assist the teachers in teaching them about the importance of being mindful of the environment. It is truly a welcome break from the four walls of a classroom, for both teacher and student.

Additionally, making all sporting fields readily available promotes a healthy and active lifestyle to keep students fit.

Maybe the primary reason why we look over a school’s design is we forget that it isn’t supposed to be bleak and dreary. What you want is to look for an institution that promotes school-life balance. We want our kids to be ready for the future, but we want them to have fun doing so.

So let’s take a page from One World International School and start looking at proper school design.
