3 ways to feel more attractive

April 12, 2016 by admin

With the new year fast approaching, now’s the perfect time to revamp your image and make yourself feel more attractive. There are lots of ways to improve your look. From rethinking your hairstyle to finessing your fashion choices, you should be able to make some relatively simple changes to boost your confidence and put a spring in your step for 2016.

Feel Attractive

1) Get a fuller head of hair

As celebs like Jude Law and Jason Statham demonstrate, you don’t need flowing locks to look great. However, if you’re losing your hair and you’re not happy about it, there may be steps you can take to address the issue. Male pattern baldness is the most common cause of hair loss and it occurs when testosterone is converted into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This hormone can have a damaging effect on hair follicles and eventually it can cause them to die. If you’re developing the tell-tale signs of male pattern baldness, you may benefit from taking the treatment finasteride. Better known under the brand name Propecia, it works by blocking the production of DHT. It comes in tablet form and it usually takes between three and six months to show positive results. In many cases, it slows or stops the loss of hair, and around two-thirds of men who take it see renewed growth. This is a prescription hair loss treatment and you can find out more about it online or by speaking to your doctor.

2) Hit the gym

Whether you’re completely out of condition or you’d just like to achieve a more toned look, it’s worth hitting the gym. OK, so it takes some effort to improve your physical condition, but the results will make your hard work worthwhile. Getting in shape will mean you feel better about your body and it could cause your confidence to skyrocket. As an added bonus, you might find that your energy levels increase too. To ensure your workout is tailored to help you achieve the results you’re after, it’s a good idea to book an appointment with a personal trainer to kickstart your get fit routine. These experts can tell you exactly which exercises to focus on.

3) Refresh your wardrobe

Want to look your best at the Christmas work party? Or perhaps you’ve got a hot date planned. Whichever events you’ve got lined up, now could be a great time to refresh your wardrobe. It’s easy to get stuck in a fashion rut and buy the same styles of clothes in the same colours time after time. To really turn heads, why not go for something completely different instead? So that you don’t fall into your usual shopping habits, try taking a fashion-conscious friend with you when you hit the stores. They’ll be able to steer you in a new direction and get you to try garments you may otherwise avoid. Revamping your wardrobe is one of the quickest and easiest ways to improve your look.

Following simple tips like these could help you to feel more attractive and boost your self-esteem.

Smooth Sailing – Tips and Tricks for Departure Day

April 1, 2016 by admin

When you turn up for your cruise, departure day can go very smoothly, or it can be very stressful. It all comes down to careful planning on your part. Make sure your departure day goes as smoothly as possible by following some simple tips, and get your dream cruise off to the best possible start.

Cruise Travel

Know the Boarding Procedure

All cruise lines will have a slightly different boarding procedure. You should try to find out a bit about this when you book your cruise using an online comparison site so that you know what to expect.

In general, when you arrive at the terminal, you will go through the check-in and security, during which your luggage will be scanned. You will then leave your luggage with the baggage handlers who will take it away and deliver it to your cabin. You will also have to hand over all of your documents so your identity can be checked, and you may then have your photograph taken for security. You may also have to complete a medical questionnaire.

You will normally be given an ID card, which you will use to get on and off the ship and to pay for items on board, and it will sometimes also be the key to your cabin.

Once you have completed check-in, you will go to a waiting area. The suite customers will often board first, followed by groups and wedding parties. However, this depends on the cruise line. When your turn comes, you will go on board and your ID will be checked again. Personnel will greet you when you get on board, and sometimes you will be led to your cabin. However, you may be have to find your cabin yourself with the help of a map.

Prepare Your Documents in Advance

Make sure you have everything you need before you leave home. Check and double check that you have your passport, ticket, insurance, and any receipts for excursions you have booked. Keep them together in one place and don’t leave home without them.

Take a Small Day Pack

Your suitcases will be taken to your cabin, but this process may take a few hours, so it is a good idea to take a small day pack with you that you do not mind carrying around. Use this to pack the essentials such as your medications, something to do while waiting in the queue, and maybe even a change of clothes.

Don’t Be Late

Don’t make the boarding process more stressful by having to rush from the airport. The best idea is to arrive the day before boarding, but if you arrive on the same day, arrange your transfer in advance. Have a plan written out so you know exactly where to go and what time the boarding starts, and this will help you to avoid rushing.

You could aim to get there just after boarding in order to miss the queues, but be careful if you do this because you do not want to arrive too late.

Enjoy a Great Start to Your Cruise

Don’t start off your cruise badly by failing to plan properly for departure day. Familiarise yourself with the boarding procedure, pack appropriately, don’t make it into mad rush, and carry everything you need for the first day. Then you can ensure a smooth, stress-free process so that you can enjoy the best start possible to your dream cruise.

Keeping Your Kids’ Teeth Healthy

March 15, 2016 by admin

Early Start

By the time your child starts kindergarten, daily morning and night tooth-brushing routines have long been established, but it’s still important that parents support this excellent habit. Teaching children about dental care and the necessity of taking care of their teeth is one of the best lessons a parent can share. As the website Know Your Teeth espouses, “Starting early is critical to success in preserving a healthy smile for a lifetime.”

Be Good Role Models

It’s a proven fact that children react well to routines, so infusing dental care into their daily regimen and making it a routine will avoid the pitfalls of parents who are lax or inconsistent with their children who may subconsciously develop the notion that while “good for you,” it’s not essential, when it clearly is. Perpetuate the notion of the critical relevance of daily dental care by making it clear that you, too, as parents, practice regular brushing and flossing. Make sure they see you adhering to a schedule, even consider brushing with them, and making it a family activity.

Seek Professional Help

In addition to teaching children how to and the importance of brushing and flossing, they’ll need regular visits for further maintenance and health of their teeth. You may need to look for a dentist in Brisbane CBD and a search will lead you to one of the most highly regarded clinics, Monterey Keys.

For the Family

Many parents may be drawn to dentists whose practices are geared toward children only, and feature colourful offices with toys strewn around the waiting area. However, in keeping with the theme of family dental care – i.e. you’re all in it together, it is a great idea to look for a family dentist. Even if you’re not making back-to-back or same day appointments, it will be comforting to your child that you share a dentist, especially when they see a paediatrician and the adults in the household see their own doctor. What you want to look for is a practice which caters to both adults and children and is skilled and trained in working with the health and temperament of all ages.

Dental To-Dos For Your Five- to 12-Year Old

  1. Continue to use the fluoride toothpaste you began using when they were three-years-old.
  2. Be sure your child continues to spit out the fluoride toothpaste
  3. Set appointments with a family dentist in Brisbane every six months for your child
  4. Make sure you teach your child to floss, add it to his/her routine as soon as their teeth begin to touch
  5. Your child should have an understanding that their baby teeth falling out is normal as their “grown-up” teeth grow in.
  6. Continue to assist your child with their am/pm routine until you’re confident he/she can brush and floss thoroughly and confidentially whilst alone.
  7. At this age, it’s important to stress how critical it is to get their back teeth – they’re harder to reach, but plaque tends to be left in this area more.
  8. Emphasize how important it is to not “rush” either the morning or evening dental routine; let your child know that they need to be thorough to reach every tooth in their mouths.

By making sure your child understands how important their daily routine is, you’ll be giving them the gift of beautiful, healthy teeth.

6 Must-See Historical Sites in Rome

March 12, 2016 by admin

Lightmatter_vaticanmuseum

Romantic venues and phenomenal brick oven pizza are not the only reason to visit Rome. Rome’s historical significance, ruins, and artifacts have drawn archeologists to this ancient city for generations. If you have a historic bone that draws you to this amazing city, but don’t know where to start your adventure, here are six things to do in Rome.

Ostia Antica

The Ruins of Ostia Antica sit just outside the hustle and bustle of Rome’s city life, and have been standing since the 4th century B.C. This magnificent time capsule has been compared to Pompeii and has preserved mosaics and relics that span over hundreds of years all the way back to the 2nd century A.D. You’ll want to make sure to see the beautiful amphitheater for the full effect of this richly historic venue.

Circus Maximus

Although it resembles an open field now, its grandeur should not be dismissed. The Circus Maximus was once one of the largest sporting arena’s in the world with seating for more than 300,000 spectators. Located between Palatine Hill and Capitoline, the Ancient Romans used this venue for chariot races that could last for several weeks. Today you can attend free concerts, cultural events, and art exhibitions put on by the City of Rome (Comune di Roma) on this open field where ancient roman’s once walked and battled.

Roman Forum

The remaining ruins of this once majestic forum are only second to the Colosseum for its views, relics, and ruins. Spanning from 500 B.C. to 400 A.D. the remaining ruins provide a glimpse into the lives of those who lived in this approximately 900 year time frame.

Piazza Navona

Built atop the Emperor Domitian’s stadium that he used for chariot races, the Piazza Navona dates back to the first century A.D.; the Piazza Navona contains dazzling fountains including the Fontana Dei Quattro Fiumi which represents the four corners of the world as seen in ancient times, outdoor cafés, and Bernini sculptures.

Spanish Steps

Built in 1726, the three landing, 135 step stair case sits in the heart of Rome and represents the Trinity; providing a magnificent heavenly view of the city of Rome and its beauty. Its irregular spacing and curves combined with straight flights, terraces and vistas make this a social gathering place for locals and tourists alike.

St. Peter’s Basilica

Dedicated to the Apostle Peter, the original St. Peter’s Basilica was commissioned by Constantine in 324 A.D. It was built on the burial site of what is considered in Christianity to be the “most influential Christian” largely due to his horrific upside down crucifixion at the Circus de Nero in 64 A.D. The church that stands now was rebuilt after the destruction of the original basilica in the 16th century, and offers tours of St. Peter’s tomb and the surrounding excavations. For those up for a little exercise you can climb the stairs that lead to St. Peter’s dome, about 500 in all, but it will cost you a fee. For a few more euros you can skip the stairs and take the elevator to see the dome.

Rome’s rich illustrious and at times violent biblical history still stand filling this amazing city with culture, romance, and historical value that can rarely be found elsewhere in the world. So, when planning your trip to Rome make sure and add some of these historical landmarks to your itinerary.
